Ultimate<\/em><\/strong> just got another breath of fresh air thanks to a\u00a0recent addition to the game’s roster and the patch that added buffs and nerfs across the game’s expansive cast. For those who may have missed it, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> added Pyra and Mythra<\/a>\u00a0from Xenoblade Chronicles 2\u00a0<\/em>as playable fighters, and the duo is already proving to be quite formidable.<\/p>\n

Another treat that came from Pyra and Mythra’s reveal was a video showcase demonstrating their movesets, hosted by none other than the game’s director, Masahiro Sakurai, who is known as a fan-favorite\u00a0figure among the Smash<\/em> community. Now,\u00a0the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em><\/a> director\u00a0has revealed that he has been verified on the social media platform Twitter, despite never having requested verification in the first place.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, Sakurai tweeted about the revelation himself, showcasing his new checkmark on Twitter for the first time. Sakurai’s tweet roughly translates to, “I got verified. When did this happen, even though I didn’t think I had applied or even requested it in the first place?! Regardless, thank you very much.” It’s a fittingly humble tweet from Sakurai, who’s\u00a0known for working extremely hard on the games he’s attached to. Plenty of times in the past, Sakurai has opened up about the stress<\/a> and effort he and his team go through when developing a new entry in the Smash Bros<\/em>. series.<\/p>\n

Sakurai’s Twitter is mainly a vehicle to talk about or showcase Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em>. In fact, Sakurai tweets out Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> screenshots pretty much every single day, which often highlight either a very funny or cinematic scenario for the fighters involved. Despite Sakurai himself claiming he would tweet fewer Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> pictures<\/a> in 2021, it doesn’t seem like the prolific game director is slowing down at all. For many, this is a positive, considering Sakurai’s Smash Ultimate<\/em> screenshots are a treat whenever they show up on one’s Twitter timeline.<\/p>\n
