Loop Hero<\/em><\/strong>, the endless auto-battler published by Devolver Digital and developed by Four Quarters, released one week ago today at the time of writing. During that short time, it has quickly established itself as more than noteworthy, smashing expectations on Steam in seemingly every category<\/a>. Now that the game’s been out for a full week, it’s become clear that it has passed yet another major sales milestone, with over half a million units sold already. Given the somewhat niche nature of the game, this is absolutely astonishing, and proof that Four Quarters’ game is able to transcend traditional expectations when it comes to genre and gameplay.<\/p>\n

Loop Hero<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>combines aspects of idle gameplay, world building, deck building, action RPGs, and roguelikes in a way that no other title ever has, but somehow it works amazingly well. Since the game released last week, players have been raving about it. Although there is technically an end game with only four chapters to complete, the variable nature of each loop and the amount of control given to the players makes the journey feel endless.<\/p>\n

Given that over 500,000 copies of\u00a0Loop Hero\u00a0<\/em>have been sold now, Devolver Digital shares some interesting stats about the game. Over the course of all 500,000 players, there’s an average playtime of around 12 hours.\u00a0Mathematically speaking, that means about six million hours of\u00a0Loop Hero\u00a0<\/em>have been played last week, and the number is only continuing to rise from there. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Four Quarters recently opened up about adding new content<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to GameRant’s interview with\u00a0Loop Hero\u00a0<\/em>developer Four Quarters<\/a>, there will be more content added to the game in the near future. Before this point comes, it will be focused on fixing bugs, removing exploits and glitches, and adding quality of life type updates. With\u00a0Loop Hero\u00a0<\/em>already amazing fans everywhere and with more to come, it seems that the game can only continue to grow in popularity as time moves on.<\/p>\n

Many players are curious about whether\u00a0Loop Hero\u00a0<\/em>will be coming to console<\/a>, and at the moment there’s no official word from either Devolver Digital or Four Quarters about this. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t happen, as now that\u00a0Loop Hero\u00a0<\/em>has become such a huge success, the developer is free to do more with the game than it initially thought possible. Regardless, fans should give their congratulations to both Four Quarters and Devolver Digital on this successful and unique game.<\/p>\n
