Military RTS\u00a0Wargame Red Dragon<\/em>\u00a0has been available free of charge for the last week thanks to the Epic Games Store<\/strong>, with players getting to engage in its tactical, strategic gameplay for no entry fee. However, as always with the promotion, a new week means a switch-up in free titles, with Epic<\/a> giving away a fresh game\u00a0while announcing what will take its place next week.<\/p>\n

As for what’s available on the Epic Games Store<\/a>\u00a0right now, players will be able to get their hands on sci-fi city builder\u00a0Surviving Mars,\u00a0<\/em>while next week they’ll\u00a0get to\u00a0claim\u00a0The Fall<\/em>. The former will be available from today until March 18, at which time the latter will cycle in until March 25.<\/p>\n

Surviving Mars\u00a0<\/em>is a comprehensive survival city-builder based on the red planet, with players having to learn to survive on its desolate surface. That means sourcing food, maintaining manpower, mining minerals, and generally ensuring settlements can cope with the harsh terrain they’re built upon. Along the way, players will encounter eerie mysteries and other secrets they’ll have to uncover, with\u00a0Surviving Mars<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>coming complete with intricate storylines to experience. The game managed to score a 76 on Metacritic at release, with reviewers praising its high production values and compelling gameplay.<\/p>\n

Next week’s title,\u00a0The Fall,\u00a0<\/em>is a story-focused, sci-fi adventure game where players take on the role of an AI\u00a0with control of an unconscious astronaut’s spacesuit. The crux of the game sees them navigate the human back to safety, as they traverse a creepy alien planet filled with hostile enemies to fight and problems to solve. The Fall<\/em>\u00a0was\u00a0lauded for its narrative and thick atmosphere at release,\u00a0with its PC port bagging a 76 on Metacritic. It’s become a renowned indie release following its debut and one that will no doubt make for a solid addition to players’ libraries.<\/p>\n

Both games join the extensive list of games made free on The Epic Games Store in recent years,\u00a0with the digital marketplace giving away\u00a0Alien Isolation, Grand Theft Auto 5<\/a>, Watch Dogs 2, Just Cause 4, Star Wars: Battlefront 2,\u00a0<\/em>and more since the offer began. Both\u00a0Surviving Mars\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Fall\u00a0<\/em>join a stacked list of free games claimable this month, with PS Plus players getting\u00a0Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Maquette, Remnant: From the Ashes,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Farpoint.\u00a0<\/em>PlayStation players also get\u00a0Ratchet and Clank\u00a0<\/em>for free as part of Sony’s Play At Home Initiative<\/a>.
