Life is Strange 3<\/em><\/strong> rumors have been floating around for quite some time now, and it seems Square Enix is finally ready to show off what\u00a0awaits in the next chapter of this narrative-driven episodic adventure.\u00a0According to Square Enix’s official Twitter account, the company’s first digital-direct event will happen later next week and\u00a0give an update on its existing franchises, alongside new announcements that include the next Life is Strange<\/em><\/a> game.<\/p>\n

The Life is Strange 3<\/em> rumor mill picked up immensely when notable leaker Navtra\u00a0teased the game’s premise and its title, a few weeks ago.\u00a0The rumor took an entirely different shape when ResetEra user bing leaked the game’s protagonist and the power she embraces. According to them,\u00a0\u00a0Life is Strange 3<\/em> is called Life is Strange: True Colors<\/em><\/a> and features an Asian American woman who can read minds. The leak also suggested that Life is Strange 3<\/em> in development at Deck Nine, the studio responsible for bringing Life is Strange: Before the Storm<\/em>\u00a0to life.<\/p>\n

It seems Navtra’s rumors were correct, and the next Life is Strange<\/em> game will be announced on March 18. Square Enix’s digital direct event<\/a> will be 40 minutes long and focus on other Square Enix titles alongside Life is Strange<\/em>, like Outriders<\/em>, Marvel’s Avengers<\/em>, Just Cause<\/em>, Tomb Raider<\/em>, etc.\u00a0While Square Enix\u00a0didn’t confirm\u00a0whether this next Life is Strange<\/em> is being developed by Dontnod Entertainment or Deck Nine,\u00a0it\u00a0did confirm that it focuses on an entirely new cast of characters and features a brand new power.<\/p>\n

While this may come as a disappointment to those hoping for a direct sequel to either of the two games, there is another rumor that suggests that a fourth Life is Strange<\/em>\u00a0game<\/a> is also in development. According to the same Resetera user bing, this one is still in pre-production and will serve as a direct sequel to the first Life is Strange<\/em>. Aside from the fact that it would feature Max and Chloe, no other information was provided.<\/p>\n

Previous Life is Strange<\/em> games have featured some of the best characters and music in video games, and it would be interesting to see how Life is Strange 3<\/em>\u00a0evolves upon what makes these games so good in the first place. It would also be interesting to see whether it takes a wider approach to storytelling, tackling social issues such as racism, etc,\u00a0as in Life is Strange 2<\/em>, or take a more\u00a0subtle approach like the first Life is Strange<\/em>. While fans don’t have much longer to wait, the ones\u00a0itching for more Dontnod’s adventure could try Tell Me Why<\/em><\/a>, whose first episode is now available for free.<\/p>\n
