The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/halo-infinite\/\"><em>Halo Infinite<\/em><\/a> delay was a big blow to the Xbox Series X&#8217;s early lineup, but this extra time in the oven could be a big difference maker when it comes to how fans receive the game when it&#8217;s finally out. Since the delay, 343 Industries has been more open about what fans can expect from the game, revealing some fresh details in a recent Q&amp;A session.<\/p>\n<p>One of the questions 343 was asked during the Q&amp;A was in regards to dual-wielding. Dual-wielding was introduced in\u00a0<em>Halo 2<\/em> as one of that game&#8217;s major new gameplay mechanics, and it popped up again in <em>Halo 3<\/em>. While <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/10-things-want-see-halo-infinite\/\">dual-wielding was a popular feature in\u00a0<em>Halo 2<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Halo 3<\/em><\/a>, it seems as though the feature may not be returning for\u00a0<em>Halo Infinite<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/halo-pringles-stephen-colbert-video-clip\/\">Stephen Colbert Pokes Fun at Halo Pringles Promotion<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to 343,\u00a0<em>Halo Infinite<\/em> currently does not have dual-wielding. The developers explained that when making <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/halo-infinite-open-world-semi\/\">a game the size of\u00a0<em>Halo Infinite<\/em><\/a>, choices have to be made about what will and won&#8217;t be included in the game. Instead of implementing a dual-wielding feature like previous\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em> games, 343 decided to instead focus on perfecting the weapons, gunplay, grenades, and melee, along with equipment.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BgrbXe-CMaE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In its current state,\u00a0<em>Halo Infinite<\/em> does not have dual-wielding, but that doesn&#8217;t mean the feature won&#8217;t be added to the FPS eventually. While it sounds highly unlikely that\u00a0<em>Halo Infinite<\/em> will have dual-wielding at launch, perhaps the feature will be added at some point as a post-launch patch or update. After all,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/halo-infinite-multiplayer-free-to-play-xbox-live-rumor\/\"><em>Halo Infinite<\/em> is expected to be a live-service style game<\/a> that&#8217;s supported for years, so one has to imagine new features like dual-wielding will be part of that support.<\/p>\n<p>Some\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em> fans may be disappointed to learn that\u00a0<em>Halo Infinite<\/em> may not have dual-wielding, but it wouldn&#8217;t be the first\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em> game to skip the feature. Besides the original\u00a0<em>Halo: Combat Evolved<\/em> not having dual-wielding,\u00a0<em>Halo 4<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Halo 5: Guardians<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Halo: Reach<\/em> skipped the feature as well.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/halo-reach-fan-event-xbox-support\/\"><em>Halo: Reach<\/em> was plenty popular<\/a> when it came out and is still considered a favorite in the\u00a0<em>Halo<\/em> community, so it&#8217;s clear that\u00a0<em>Infinite<\/em> could still be well-received by fans, even without dual-wielding.<\/p>\n<p>As we get closer to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/halo-infinite-releasing-fall-2021\/\"><em>Halo Infinite<\/em>&#8216;s fall 2021 release date<\/a>, more information on the game and its features should come to light.
