The actors who voiced the characters of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resident Evil 2 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">remake<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">game, which released in 2019, will be reprising their roles in the CGI-animated series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In an official announcement posted on Twitter, the streaming service released the first poster for the series along with the confirmation that the familiar voices of Nick Apostolides and Stephanie Panisello will return as the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-2-new-games\/\"><em>Resident Evil 2<\/em> remake<\/a>&#8216;s Kennedy and Redfield, respectively. No release date has been announced yet, but the anime series is set to be featured at the Anime Japan 2021 festival on March 27. More details could be revealed then.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><b>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-village-chris-redfield-villain-claire-undercover-blue-umbrella-infected\/\">Resident Evil Village: Three Reasons Chris Redfield Could Turn Into a Villain<\/a><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The post was cleverly titled, \u201cEven in darkness, a familiar voice can make all the difference.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-games-ranked\/\">The <em>Resident Evil<\/em> games<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are known for their dark plots, and when the anime series was first announced, it was confirmed that the Netflix show will &#8220;reveal a Resident Evil world unlike anything seen before.\u201d So, there is a chance that\u00a0Netflix&#8217;s take on the popular franchise could be even more ghastly than what fans of the games are used to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NXOnNetflix\/status\/1370179302336000007\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Netflix series will be produced by Capcom\u2019s Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who was an integral part of bringing <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-infinite-darkness-confirmed-as-canon\/\">the <em>Resident Evil<\/em> games to life<\/a><i>.<\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0He first came on board as a programmer in 1995 for the first <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resident Evil<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> game. He then went on to work as a producer and executive producer on the remaining games and has even contributed to previous anime adaptations of the game produced in Japan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Infinite Darkness<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be following the journey of Kennedy and Redfield, two main protagonists from the game series. It has previously been confirmed that the series will be based on the game franchise\u2019s canon. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The story, based in 2006, will introduce viewers to the two main characters as they reunite in the White House. While Kennedy will be called in to investigate \u201cimproper access to secret Presidential files,\u201d he will encounter <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-games-zombie-types\/\">a horde of zombies<\/a>. Meanwhile, Redfield arrives at the White House to request the construction of a welfare facility. It remains to be seen where their chance encounter will take the two main characters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apart from the anime series, Netflix is also working on a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-reboot-origin-story-jill-valentine\/\">reboot for the<em> Resident Evil<\/em> movie franchise<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The live-action film will be a true adaptation of the first two games in the extremely popular franchise, with the storyline set in 1998 in Raccoon City. The movie stars Kaya Scodelario as Redfield, Avan Jogia as Kennedy, Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine, and Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield. All four of those characters were a part of the first two <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Resident Evil<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> games.
