Fans of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/forgotten-adventure-games-need-play\/\">obscure 2014 text adventure<\/a> have been fighting to save it since before EA pulled the plug last November.<\/p>\n<p>Now, fans of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/dragon-age\/\">Dragon Age: The Last Court<\/a><\/em> embark on one last-ditch attempt to bring the game back from the dead. The community launched a #SaveSerault Twitter campaign on Friday. Fans hope to show EA, BioWare, and Failbetter Games that <em>The Last Court<\/em> is still beloved by many people.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dragon-age-4-dropping-live-service-elements-double-edged-sword\/\">Dragon Age 4 Dropping Live Service Elements is a Double-Edged Sword<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Some shared memes, screenshots, and fan art illustrating their passion for <em>The Last Court<\/em>. Others talked about their favorite experiences with the game or <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/failbetter-games-interview-704\/\">praised Failbetter\u2019s writing<\/a>. A few newer <em>Dragon Age<\/em> fan asked for it to come back so they could play it for the first time. Others lamented how they only learned about <em>The Last Court <\/em>when it was about to shut down.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thats1evildude\/status\/1370399828685979650\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>UK-based Failbetter Games released <em>Dragon Age: The Last Court<\/em> in November 2014.\u00a0 Failbetter is more widely known as the studio behind <em>Fallen London<\/em> and <em>Sunless Sea<\/em>. The text-based <em>Last Court<\/em> was launched as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dragon-age-inquisition-xbox-series-x-fps-boost\/\">marketing for <em>Dragon Age: Inquisition<\/em><\/a> and foreshadowed some of the main game\u2019s events. Players took the role of the Marquis of Serault, a small town on the edge of the Orlesian Empire. The game tasked players with restoring their family\u2019s honor by impressing the Devine during an official visit. Along the way, they would interact with quirky characters, suppress uprisings, and unravel the secrets of the mysterious town.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, it is no longer playable since EA <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/battleborn-servers-shut-down-2021\/\">shut down the servers<\/a> last year. However, not all fans were willing to let it go without a fight. The last week of the game\u2019s run saw an organized effort to capture screenshots of as much of <em>The Last Court<\/em> as possible. This was particularly challenging due to how the game operates, only allowing a set number of actions per day. Still, participants managed to preserve almost all of the game\u2019s events and outcomes, allowing fans to read through them on Google Docs.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/greater_mistral\/status\/1370392500926570498\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While better than nothing, it\u2019s far from the ideal way to experience <em>Dragon Age: The Last Court<\/em>. That\u2019s why some fans launched the #SaveSerault Twitter campaign on Friday. They hope to convince BioWare and Failbetter to re-release the game in some capacity. They also think it makes a great final farewell to the obscure but beloved title.<\/p>\n<p>The Reddit post announcing the campaign acknowledges #SaveSerault is a long shot. Still, BioWare and Failbetter never ruled out the possibility.
