The agreement was unveiled via\u00a0the franchise&#8217;s official\u00a0Twitter account, which posted a celebratory video hyping up the return of the legendary golfing mainstay.<\/p>\n<p>The deal will allegedly\u00a0see Woods&#8217; exclusively star in 2K published products, with the company confirming that he&#8217;ll feature in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pga-tour-2k21-interview-new-update\/\"><em>PGA Tour 2K\u00a0<\/em>series<\/a> as well as &#8220;other golfing games publishing by 2K during the partnership.&#8221; In a press release sent to several gaming publications, it was also confirmed that the iconic golfer will feature as both an executive director and consultant for the\u00a0<em>PGA Tour\u00a0<\/em>franchise,\u00a0while 2K will be partnering with the\u00a0Woods&#8217; TGR Foundation to help students pursue their academic passions.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pga-tour-2k21-review\/\">PGA TOUR 2K21 Review<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape,&#8221; Woods claims\u00a0in the release, stating that 2K is the perfect partner to facilitate his comeback. &#8220;[I] look forward to sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together.&#8221; It&#8217;s hardly a surprise to see 2K getting Woods involved once again, with <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pga-tour-2k21-big-sales-hit\/\"><em>PGA Tour&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em>return last year allegedly resulting in significant sales numbers<\/a>.\u00a0Considering\u00a0one of the more significant criticisms with\u00a0<em>PGA Tour 2K21\u00a0<\/em>was the\u00a0absence of\u00a0playable pro golfing legends, Woods&#8217; return hopefully signals a new-found focus on bringing star power to the game.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PGATOUR2K\/status\/1371796567674351621\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Tiger Woods&#8217; video game legacy stretches back as far as the 90s, with the golfing megastar first gracing the cover of a\u00a0<em>PGA Tour\u00a0<\/em>game in 1998. He remained the poster boy for the series until 2013, at which point\u00a0a slate of controversies saw the star dropped from the franchise and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pga-tour-game-rory-mcilroy-replaces-tiger-woods\/\">replaced with fellow golfing legend\u00a0Rory McIlroy<\/a>.
