Since then,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/fortnite\"><em>Fortnite<\/em><\/a>&#8216;s Jonesy has become most known as Agent Jones, and other skins\u00a0have cemented their place in\u00a0the game&#8217;s cast of characters\u00a0like Meowscles and Fishstick.<\/p>\n<p>Today brought the end of\u00a0Chapter 2 Season 5 in the game and literally ushered in a new era\u00a0for the newest season, bringing players Chapter 2 Season 6: Primal. At 1 AM PST,\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> premiered the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-zero-crisis-cinematic\/\">Zero Crisis Finale event<\/a>, featuring a cinematic showing the newest happenings in Agent Jones&#8217; mission to stabilize the Zero Point. However, many\u00a0have noticed that it looks like\u00a0a fan-favorite character was lost during the cinematic.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-season-6-map-changes\/\">Every Fortnite Chapter 2\u00a0Season 6 Map Change<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Epic Games\u00a0called the Zero Crisis Finale its\u00a0&#8220;most ambitious story cinematic yet,&#8221; and it certainly shows, bringing together many of Season 5&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-where-is-the-xenomorph-location-item-shop-alien-ripley\/\">crossover characters like The Xenomorph,<\/a> Kratos, Sarah Connor, Master Chief, and more. However, fans noticed that during the cinematic, Agent Jones watched on in horror as his friend Peely, an anthropomorphic banana, took a Hadouken straight from Ryu himself, exploding into a chunky\u00a0banana smoothie.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EddiePozos_\/status\/1371740695363420160?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/polaqwym\/status\/1371811223038259209?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sir_Pinia\/status\/1371749121732796416?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It seems the horrific\u00a0death of Peely garnered\u00a0mixed reactions from fans, as many took to Twitter to either express grief over their loss, or sheer joy, which came from those who believe that the giant sentient banana is a little too creepy for their liking. Although, this isn&#8217;t the first time\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em>&#8216;s Peely character has met its demise.<\/p>\n<p>During the game&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-season-9\/\">Chapter 1 Season 9<\/a> cinematic trailer, it was shown that after being trapped together in a bunker for who knows how long, Jonesy eventually turned Peely into a refreshing smoothie. Additionally, in the trailer for the Mando&#8217;s Bounty LTM last season, Peely was shown being frozen in Carbonite by the Mandalorian himself.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, fans of Peely likely don&#8217;t have too much to worry about, as this seems to be somewhat of a running joke by Epic Games at this point. The\u00a0walking banana was introduced to\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> back in the Chapter 1 Season 8 Battle Pass as an Epic skin. Since then, the character has returned multiple times as <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-robotic-peely-skin\/\">the robotic P-1000,<\/a>\u00a0the unsettling Unpeely and\u00a0Peely Bone, and even Agent Peely.<\/p>\n<p>The newest season of\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> has sent players back in time, where they must hunt animals for materials, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-primal-weapon-crafting\/\">craft their own Makeshift, Primal, and Mechanical versions<\/a> of popular\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> weapons.
