However, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier might have just let out a hint about a possible delay.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/god-of-war\/\"><em>God of War<\/em><\/a>\u00a0community in general has had doubts about the game arriving in 2021, for months now. Part of the rationale behind these beliefs is that Sony hasn&#8217;t done a lot of talking about where the title is in the development cycle. On the other hand, the company hasn&#8217;t announced any official delay. When a follower of Schreier on Twitter asked for some reassurance that\u00a0<em>God of War<\/em>\u00a0is still coming this year, he scoffed.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/god-war-fallen-god-probably-wont-much-ragnarok-sequel\/\">God of War: Fallen God Probably Won&#8217;t Have Much to Do With Ragnarok Sequel<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Schreier responded with a simple &#8220;Lol&#8221; to the question as to whether\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/big-playstation-5-exclusives-confirmed-2021\/\"><em>God of War<\/em>\u00a0is still coming in 2021<\/a>.\u00a0The question arose because the <em>Bloomberg News<\/em> journalist posted earlier in the year that several games that were slated for a 2021 release were going to be delayed. The first of that group was <em>Hogwart&#8217;s Legacy<\/em> which the developers announced back in January\u00a0would not be ready to hit the market until 2022.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jasonschreier\/status\/1372946595868778503\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The post talking about &#8220;numerous&#8221; games being delayed was revived by Schreier when <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/gotham-knights-release-date-delay-2021-2022\/\"><em>Gotham Knights<\/em> devs announced<\/a> that game, too was pushed back to next year. It was this thread that the writer&#8217;s follower looked for confirmation that <em>God of War Ragnarok<\/em> still indeed had a planned release for later this year.<\/p>\n<p>Several of Schreier&#8217;s followers took his response as confirmation that the next installment in the rebooted <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/god-war-ragnarok-2021-launch-delay-pandemic-aaa-competition\/\"><em>God of War<\/em> franchise was indeed delayed<\/a>. Several others claimed they knew that was going to be the eventual decision. Those followers tend to look to the <em>Bloomberg<\/em> writer because he&#8217;s gotten a reputation in the gaming industry as someone who has &#8220;insider&#8221; connections that have allowed him to break very big stories about several major games and the companies behind them.<\/p>\n<p>For its part, Sony has not confirmed there is any sort of delay just yet for <em>God of War Ragnarok<\/em>. On the other hand, the company hasn&#8217;t given a whole lot of updates on the state of the title since 2021 began.
