In a shock announcement, it\u00a0upped the ante by announcing it will be <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/playstation-free-games-play-home-10-games-march-april-horizon-zero-dawn\/\">giving away ten free PlayStation 4 and PSVR games<\/a>\u00a0to all players\u00a0between March 25 and May 14 including <em>Abzu<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Astro Bot Rescue Mission<\/em>, <em>Moss<\/em>, <em>The Witness<\/em>, <em>Subnautica<\/em>, and more. And that&#8217;s not taking into account the additional lineup of free games for those who subscribe to <strong>PlayStation Plus<\/strong> each month.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a few odd mishaps here and there like the announcement that the PS Plus version of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-7-remake-playstation-plus-ps5-upgrade\/\"><em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em>\u00a0won&#8217;t offer an upgrade path<\/a> for the upcoming PlayStation 5 version, the past year has been full of outstanding games, and it&#8217;s only improved since with PS5. Sony has proven how far it&#8217;s willing to go to make PS Plus a must-have, so with that in mind,\u00a0here&#8217;s a complete\u00a0PS Plus\u00a0free games wish list for\u00a0April\u00a02021.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/control-remedy-entertainment-sony-next-gen-microsoft\/\">Control Developer Thinks Sony Was &#8216;More Ready&#8217; for Next-Gen Than Microsoft<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/crash-bandicoot-4-key-art.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>When the <em>Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy<\/em> released in 2017, compiling the original trilogy of games rebuilt from the ground up for PlayStation 4, it\u00a0sent ripples throughout the video game industry that are still being felt today. Not only did the remake trilogy release to critical acclaim, but it also broke into the mainstream through the power of nostalgia. This lead to record-breaking sales nd paved the way for a number of other incredible PS1 remakes including <em>Spyro Reignited Trilogy<\/em>, <em>Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled<\/em>, <em>MediEvil<\/em>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tony-hawks-pro-skater-1-2-ps5-switch-xbox-series-x-confirmation-upgrades\/\">last year&#8217;s <em>Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was obvious that the success of\u00a0<em>Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled<\/em> meant there would be a proper new Crash Bandicoot game in the works, and in October 2020,\u00a0<em>Crash Bandicoot 4: It&#8217;s About Time<\/em> released. Developed by Toys for Bob, <em>Crash Bandicoot 4<\/em> was built as a sequel to the original trilogy and follows Crash &amp; Coco on a mission to recover the Quantum Masks\u00a0and prevent Doctor Neo Cortex and Doctor Nefarious Tropy from\u00a0taking over the multiverse. With five playable characters, new mask powerups that alter levels and time, cooperative play, multiplayer, gem challenges, time trials, a mirrored mode, and more, there&#8217; so much to do and so much to love about\u00a0<em>Crash Bandicoot 4\u2014<\/em>and there&#8217;s<em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-4-review-ps5-xbox-series\/\">a free\u00a0PS5 upgrade available too<\/a>!<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/ghost-recon-wildlands-ps-plus.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Ubisoft released <em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Ghost Recon Breakpoint<\/em> in October 2019 to mixed reviews, not because the game was particularly bad but because it was a step backward (excluding Jon Bernthal of course) in many ways from the previous entry,\u00a0<em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Ghost Recon Wildlands<\/em>. Developed by Ubisoft Paris and released in March 2017,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghost-recon-breakpoint-improves-wildlands\/\"><em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Ghost Recon Wildlands<\/em> aimed to shake things up for the series<\/a> and it did exactly that, moving away from the futuristic setting and linear level design of 2012&#8217;s <em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier<\/em> to a modern open-world tactical shooter with cooperative play.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Ghost Recon Wildlands<\/em>\u00a0wasn&#8217;t a perfect game at launch and received criticism for its narrative, repetitive missions, and bugs, but it successfully took the series in a whole new direction and received consistent support and new content leading up to the release of <em>Breakpoint<\/em>. The game&#8217;s post-launch operations included major crossovers with <em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Splinter Cell&#8217;<\/em>s\u00a0Sam Fisher, as well as the iconic Predator, an introduction to Jon Bernthal&#8217;s character before the events of <em>Ghost Recon Breakpoint<\/em>, and additional characters from <em>Rainbow Six Siege<\/em> and <em>Ghost Recon: Future Soldier<\/em>.\u00a0Now would be the perfect time to return to a game like\u00a0<em>Tom Clancy&#8217;s Ghost Recon Wildlands<\/em> in a down period before upcoming releases like <em>Deathloop<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart<\/em> take over, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/playstation-plus\/\">PlayStation Plus<\/a> is a great way to bring on thousands of new players.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/afteparty-ps-plus.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>Developer <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/oxenfree-interview\/\">Night School Studio made a name for itself in 2016 with the release of <em>Oxenfree<\/em><\/a>, a graphic adventure game that follows a\u00a0group of teenagers on a weekend getaway and a supernatural mystery that threatens to pull them apart. Three years later, Night School Studio followed up <em>Oxenfree<\/em> with the release of its next big game <em>Afterparty<\/em>, an adventure game about two best friends who must outdrink Satan\u00a0if they ever wish to escape from Hell and make it back to Earth. The premise is as ridiculous as it sounds and the developer leans directly into the absurdity of it by focusing on humor, player choice, and an outrageous cast.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/oddworld-soulstorm-ps-plus.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The next round of free games are expected to be released on Tuesday, April 6, with <em>Destruction AllStars<\/em>\u00a0leaving the day before, as well as <em>Maquette<\/em>, <em>Final Fantasy VII Remake<\/em>, <em>Remnant: From the Ashes<\/em>, and <em>Farpoint<\/em>. During the February State of Play, Sony confirmed\u00a0that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/oddworld-soulstorm-ps-plus-release-date\/\"><em>Oddworld: Soulstorm<\/em> will be released day and date on PS Plus<\/a>, and will be completely free of charge\u00a0as part of the monthly subscription. Since the launch of PS5, Sony has utilized\u00a0PlayStation Plus\u00a0for a number of launches including <em>Bugsnax<\/em>, <em>Destruction AllStars<\/em>, and now <em>Oddworld: Soulstorm<\/em>.
