Fans of HBO\u2019s fantasy series Game of Thrones<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>can rejoice because it sounds like the network is eager to return to the brutal world of Westeros in the near future. HBO\u00a0is reportedly developing\u00a0three more prequel shows that include\u00a09 Voyages,\u00a0<\/em>a.k.a. Sea Snake, <\/em>Flea Bottom, <\/em>and 10,000 Ships<\/em>.<\/p>\n

HBO\u2019s acclaimed fantasy series\u00a0Game of Thrones\u00a0<\/em>came to a fiery end in 2019 after eight epic seasons. The live-action adaptation of George R.R. Martins’s\u00a0fantasy novel series<\/a> A Song of Ice and Fire<\/em>\u00a0was a critical\u00a0darling, winning dozens of awards, and was likely one of the most popular shows of its time. Despite the final season receiving mixed reviews, Game of Thrones\u00a0<\/em>will likely be remembered as one of the biggest and most influential TV dramas of the 21st century, along with other \u2018golden age\u2019 shows like The Sopranos,<\/em>\u00a0Breaking Bad\u00a0<\/em>and Mad Men.<\/em><\/p>\n

Even though Game of Thrones<\/em> has wrapped, HBO looks to be pursuing further projects that will bring audiences back to the cutthroat fantasy world. The network is already working on\u00a0a spin-off about the rise and fall of House Targaryen in the prequel series titled House of the Dragon<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>and\u00a0now there appears to be three more projects in development, according to Deadline.<\/p>\n

9<\/em> Voyages,\u00a0<\/em>aka\u00a0Sea Snake<\/em>, is the first of these other spin-offs\u00a0and\u00a0is being developed by Bruno Heller, the creator of\u00a0the HBO series\u00a0Rome\u00a0<\/em>who\u00a0also helped develop T<\/em>he Mentalist <\/em>on CBS\u00a0<\/em>and the DC Comics series\u00a0Gotham.<\/em>\u00a0Martin is also reportedly involved in the development of the series.\u00a0<\/em>The 9 Voyages<\/em> refers to the epic\u00a0voyages made aboard the ship The Sea Snake by Lord Corlys Velaryon, a character who is also set to appear in House of the Dragon<\/em><\/a>. <\/em>HBO’s 9 Voyages\u00a0<\/em>is the only one of these three series to currently have a creative\u00a0team\u00a0attached, while the other two are still being explored by the network.<\/p>\n

The second series is\u00a0set in Flea Bottom, the poorest district in King\u2019s Landing, which appeared multiple times in\u00a0Game of Thrones.<\/em>\u00a0It\u2019s described as \u201ca maze-like warren of narrow streets and dark alleys filled with tanneries, brothels, and alehouses.\u201d\u00a0The third spin-off, 10,000 Ships, <\/em>is based on\u00a0the journey made by the warrior queen Princess Nymeria from Essos to Dorne around\u00a01,000 years before the events depicted in the A Song of Ice and Fire<\/em> novels.<\/p>\n

HBO is also apparently eyeing an\u00a0adaptation of Martin\u2019s Tales of Dunk & Egg<\/em> novella and a potential animated Game of Thrones<\/em>\u00a0series set<\/a> for at HBO Max. While\u00a0House of the Dragon\u00a0<\/em>is set to premiere sometime in 2022, the other shows have yet to be officially moved into production.<\/p>\n
