The 131-year-old Japanese company has brought countless fans joy and entertainment for generations, from the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-online-nes-snes-february-2021-games\/\">8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System<\/a> to the hybrid handheld-home console Nintendo Switch. And while the company has certainly had its ups and downs, one market it has always dominated was handheld gaming.<\/p>\n<p>Since the release of the original Game Boy in 1989, Nintendo has released countless classic\u00a0handheld games, from titles\u00a0like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/post-malone-pokemon-anniversary-song-gold-silver\/\"><em>Pokemon Gold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Silver<\/em><\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0<em>The\u00a0<\/em><i>Legend of Zelda: Link&#8217;s Awakening<\/i>, but many fans argue that where Nintendo&#8217;s handheld games shined the most was with the <strong>Game Boy Advance<\/strong>. User TheUltiMarioFan reminisced on a collaboration between Nintendo and Minute Maid&#8217;s Hi-C juice-flavored drinks made, to promote the Game Boy Advance featuring loads of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-characters-inspired-by-real-people\/\">different Nintendo characters<\/a> each representing a different flavor of Hi-C. Twitter user RPGSite notes that while\u00a0the Game Boy Advance released in Japan 20 years ago today, it didn&#8217;t come to the West until September 10, 2001.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RPGSite\/status\/1373645906613039106?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some fans had hoped that Nintendo might commemorate the system&#8217;s 20th anniversary by <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-online-game-boy-advance-games\/\">releasing Game Boy Advance games<\/a> on the Nintendo Switch Online service, but as of right now, Nintendo has yet to add more than games from the NES and SNES. The Japanese video game company\u00a0has certainly been celebrating quite a few anniversaries as of late, with\u00a0<em>Super Mario<\/em>&#8216;s 35th anniversary last year, along with\u00a0<em>The Legend of Zelda<\/em>&#8216;s 35th anniversary,\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em>&#8216;s 25th anniversary,\u00a0<em>Donkey Kong<\/em>&#8216;s 40th anniversary, and\u00a0<em>Metroid<\/em>&#8216;s 35th anniversary all taking place this year.<\/p>\n<p>Now, as\u00a0fans celebrate one Nintendo system, they look forward to another, as many are eager to learn more of the highly-rumored\u00a0Nintendo Switch console revision in the form of a Switch Pro.
