After missing out on Monster Hunter World<\/em> and its expansion Iceborne<\/em><\/a>, Capcom has instead created a brand new experience for Nintendo Switch owners. Monster Hunter Rise<\/em><\/strong> is an all new entry in the long running franchise, mixing familiar gameplay elements with brand new ones. Players once again step into the shoes of a Hunter, battling massive creatures to finish quests and use the resources gained to continually craft better gear.<\/p>\n

Set within a world that looks inspired by Feudal Japan, Rise<\/em> brings back the large seamless map feature started by its predecessor, Monster Hunter World<\/em>. To help navigate the open spaces, players have new movement options not seen in the franchise before including a Palamute mount which not only covers ground very quickly, but can scale cliffs as well. The Wirebug can also be used to swing and grapple<\/a> around the world, or used in combat like the Clutch Claw, interacting with the various weapons, as well as being used in the new Wyvern Riding mechanic.<\/p>\n

With Monster Hunter Rise<\/em><\/a> set to launch on March 26 for the Nintendo Switch, Capcom has created a few different versions to pick from. Here’s what players need to know about the preorder bonuses and the various editions of the game.<\/p>\n

For those who have already pre-ordered the game or plan to do so before it’s worldwide launch, players will be getting a few digital goodies on day 1. The bonuses themselves are centered on the player’s pets and helpers, giving them a new cosmetic look. The Palamute receives the Retriever Costume layered armor<\/a> while the Palico gets the Forest Cat Costume layered armor.<\/p>\n

In addition, Players will get a novice Talisman which can be equipped to give a 5% bonus to affinity and reduces stamina depletion by 25% when wall running. It’s meant to help early game players as Talisman items aren’t unlocked until further in the game.<\/p>\n

For Switch owners, Capcom has created three different versions of Monster Hunter Rise<\/em>. In addition to the base version of the game, there’s also a Deluxe Edition for those who want a bit more features\u00a0at a slightly higher price point.<\/p>\n
