While playing through\u00a0Viscera Cleanup Detail<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>players will eventually find themselves up against three locked doors found in ‘The Office’ area. Each of these doors is locked with keypad, requiring a specific code to be entered<\/a> in order for players to get in find out what’s inside. While most games would task players with solving some kind of puzzle to figure out the code or even just tracking down a piece of paper with the code scribbled on it, that isn’t the case here. Instead, players will have to rely on some good old-fashioned trial and error.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, players won’t have to try every combination, as even with the four digit door codes this would take hours. There are thousands of potential codes, so going through them all simply isn’t realistic. Instead, players can manipulate what seems to be a fatal flaw in this lock’s design that will allow them to puzzle out the code in a matter of minutes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since each door’s code is randomized in every playthrough, it’s impossible to simply look up the code and plug it in. That means no magic moments where the character clairvoyantly knows the code to a safe like in\u00a0The Last of Us 2<\/em><\/a>. To solve the door codes, players need to enter code 1111 and pay close attention to the screen. Immediately after entering a number, the screen will very briefly flash white if the number is in the right position. Continue down doing 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555, 6666, 7777, 8888, and 9999, making a mental note of where the screen flashes.<\/p>\n
