Since launch,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/destiny-2\/\"><em>Destiny 2<\/em><\/a> fans have been able to participate in multiple Battlegrounds activities across a variety of maps, and have also been able to complete the Presage Exotic Quest to get their hands on the Dead Man&#8217;s Tale scout rifle. The latest content drop for Season of the Chosen adds a new Strike to complete, which has major Season of the Chosen story implications.<\/p>\n<p>The new\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> Strike is called Proving Grounds, and it is located on Nessus. Players that have been playing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-battleground-glitch-foothold-boss-clear\/\"><em>Destiny 2<\/em> Battlegrounds<\/a> regularly will recognize the beginning area of the Strike, as it was featured in the first Battlegrounds that was ever added to the game. To commemorate the Strike&#8217;s release, Bungie has released a new trailer that shows off some of Proving Grounds gameplay and sets the stage for the story.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-warlock-stasis-glitch-animation\/\">New Destiny 2 Stasis Glitch Gives Players a Weird Wiggle in the Crucible<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em>&#8216;s Season of the Chosen, Cabal Empress Caiatl has asked the Guardians to assist her in fighting back against the Hive. Since the events of the Red War campaign, things aren&#8217;t exactly civil between humanity and the Cabal, and Caiatl&#8217;s insistence that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-meme-zavala-lance-reddick\/\">Commander Zavala<\/a> kneels to her has not done anyone any favors. A failed assassination attempt later, and the decision is made to send three Guardians to face Caiatl&#8217;s chosen champion in a Right of Proving.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SZbpPwC6x-g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The three Guardians in the fireteam represent some important\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> figures, including <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-saladin-voice\/\">Lord Saladin<\/a>, Osiris, and of course, Commander Zavala. Despite its heavy story implications, the\u00a0Proving Grounds Strike is fairly straightforward from a gameplay perspective. Experienced Guardians should be able to complete it without too much trouble, though it should be noted that not everyone has access to it just yet.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of this writing, only\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> Season Pass holders can play the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-complete-new-proving-ground-strike\/\">new Proving Grounds Strike<\/a>. Bungie has indicated that the Strike will be added for everyone in\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> starting next Tuesday, March 30. Until then, though, Season Pass holders have exclusive access.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, there&#8217;s even more for\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> players to look forward to. On April 13, the Iron Banner will return (it&#8217;s currently in the game now), and from April 20 to May 9, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-heir-apparent-catalyst-2021\/\">Guardian Games event<\/a> will go live. The\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> Guardian Games Closing Ceremony takes place May 7-9, and Bungie has teased that there will be &#8220;more&#8221; for\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> fans to look forward to during the Season of the Chosen as well.
