The following ten games on this list were all noteworthy releases when they first hit stores but <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/forgotten-platformers-need-play\/\">are rarely\u00a0spoken about today<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Loom<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/loom.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Loom<\/em>\u00a0may not have received the same mainstream attention as some of LucasArts&#8217; other point-and-click titles like <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/Grim%20Fandango\/\">Grim Fandango<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/The%20Secret%20of%20Monkey%20Island\/\"><em>The Secret of Monkey Island<\/em><\/a>, but the game didn&#8217;t fall far short in terms of quality.<\/p>\n<p><em>Loom\u00a0<\/em>differentiates itself from LucasArts&#8217; other graphic adventures with\u00a0the game&#8217;s\u00a0unique musical distaff, which can create spells with its four-note tunes. Moreover, the game separates itself with its\u00a0heavier focus on creating an intricate and compelling narrative rather than one that predominantly focuses on humor.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>Zombies Ate My Neighbors<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Zombies-Ate-My-Neighbors-Co-Op-Monster.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Zombies Ate My Neighbors\u00a0<\/em>was initially released on the SNES in September 1993 before coming to the Sega Genesis a couple of months later. As the title suggests, players need to save their neighbors from a range of fictional monsters such as werewolves, vampires, and mummies. However, movie tie-ins began to leave the forefront of the gaming industry around the mid-2000s, as players realized that they\u00a0were often cash-ins with\u00a0very short development times to correspond with the film&#8217;s release date, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/worst-movie-based-games-metacritic\/\">resulting in underwhelming games<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Labyrinth: The Computer Game\u00a0<\/em>is a graphic adventure game based on the film\u00a0<em>Labyrinth\u00a0<\/em>with\u00a0<em>Requiem for a Dream<\/em> star Jennifer Connely and the iconic\u00a0David Bowie. The game is an exception to the rule of movie tie-ins being of poor quality, as the game was well-received by fans and critics.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>The Dig<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/the-dig.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Point and click adventure\u00a0<em>The Dig\u00a0<\/em>was released in 1995, during\u00a0LucasArts&#8217; prime of making such games. The game differentiated itself from the vast majority of LucasArts&#8217; graphic adventures, which are often filled with jokes and humor, with its dark science fiction narrative.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Dig<\/em>&#8216;s narrative was created by Steven Spielberg and revolves around an asteroid that is on course to hit Earth. The story was initially going to be part of\u00a0Spielberg&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Amazing Stories\u00a0<\/em>series, though it was decided that <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20111104214612\/http:\/\/kotaku.com\/5855469\/so-a-giant-asteroid-is-heading-for-earthagain\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">it would be too expensive to film<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Star Wars: Rebel Assault<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/star-wars-rebel-assault.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>A list of\u00a0LucasArts media would feel incomplete without at least one entry featuring George Lucas&#8217; crown jewel\u00a0<em>Star Wars.\u00a0<\/em>Finding a\u00a0<em>Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>game that many people have forgotten sounds like a difficult task on paper, but thankfully the company has released so many games under the IP that there are a few which have slipped through the cracks.<\/p>\n<p><em>Star Wars: Rebel Assult\u00a0<\/em>was initially released in November 1993 and is one of many\u00a0<em>Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>video games that takes players to space and lets them battle against The Empire. The game is a rail shooter, which can feel extremely restricting when compared to modern titles like\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/Star%20Wars:%20Squadrons\/\">Star Wars: Squadrons<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>though it works well as an interactive film.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>Battlehawks 1942<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/battlehawks-1942.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Battlehawks 1942,\u00a0<\/em>as the title suggests, takes players to the skies during the middle of World War II. The Combat Flight Simulator lets players participate in some of the war&#8217;s historical battles, including the Battle of Midway and the\u00a0Battle of the Coral Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Something about\u00a0<em>Battlehawks 1942\u00a0<\/em>that may sound odd to younger audiences is that the game received critical acclaim for its instruction manual.
