Among Us\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>fans have been awaiting the brand new map coming to the game for some time now, as there are currently only three official maps playable right now. The team behind Among Us<\/em> revealed the Airship map<\/a>\u00a0during the 2020 Game Awards show, which was slated to be coming in early 2021.<\/p>\n

Now, the Airship map has made another appearance, this time at the ID@Xbox Indie Showcase event. Innersloth, the developer behind Among Us<\/em><\/a>, showed off another look at the Airship map, which should shake up the way each round plays out quite a bit.<\/p>\n

As most readers will likely know, Among Us<\/em> had an absolutely massive surge in popularity during 2020, thanks to content creators on platforms like Twitch and YouTube. That popularity lasted well into the end of the year, with\u00a0Among Us<\/em>\u00a0fans watching over 200 million hours<\/a> on Twitch in\u00a0throughout the last quarter of 2020. However, there haven’t been an abundance of meaningful content updates to the game since it exploded in popularity. However, Among Us<\/em> will be getting another new map soon in the form of the Toppat Airship map which introduces a bunch of new gameplay elements.<\/p>\n

Innersloth has detailed\u00a0Among Us<\/em>‘ new Airship map<\/a>, which will feature all new tasks, brand new starting rooms, and different methods of traversal. In terms of new tasks, this new trailer introduced some in the form of polishing a massive red crystal in various places, as well as taking out the trash in a fun minigame. The Airship map will also introduce a new element to meetings, where players will be able to select which room they start in after the meeting is adjourned. This will no doubt add an entirely new element of subterfuge to the game, as players won’t be able to see which directions other players head off in at the start of a round<\/p>\n

Interestingly, while the trailer did not give a specific release date at the end showing when the map will launch, the official release date has already been revealed. According to Innersloth on Twitter, the Airship map will release on March 31 alongside an update for the game. Though some players were able to check out the Airship map early<\/a>\u00a0through a glitch on the Nintendo Switch version of Among Us<\/em>, this will be many players’ first time seeing the new map.<\/p>\n

Still, it’s hard not to wonder if the Airship map is too little too late. Many players and industry members have wondered about Among Us<\/em>‘ longevity<\/a>. The fact that this Airship map is just now getting released is certainly not the best sign for future updates for the multiplayer juggernaut. However, it is important to remember that Innersloth is still a small team with a lot on its plate. Hopefully, players end up enjoying the Airship map for Among Us<\/em> on their platform of choice at the end of March.<\/p>\n

Among Us<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is available on Mobile, PC, and Switch, with Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions coming in 2021.<\/p>\n
