The Wack-a-Mole update for\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/dead-cells\/\">Dead Cells<\/a><\/em>\u00a0gives players new weapons, an altered difficulty curve, quality of life improvements, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>2017&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-cells-new-sales-milestone-5-million\/\"><em>Dead\u00a0Cells<\/em>\u00a0recently hit a massive sales milestone<\/a>, as the roguelike has now sold over 5 million copies. For any game that is impressive, but that is especially eye-popping for an indie-developed title. Perhaps part of the reason for the success is ongoing support by way of updates and content, and the Wack-a-Mole update is the latest example.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-cells-holiday-update\/\">Dead Cells Reveals Fatal Falls DLC Gameplay<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The highlight of the update is three heavy weapons: the\u00a0Oven Axe, Toothpick, and\u00a0Tombstone. There are also three new damage-focused mutations. That list includes the\u00a0Execution, Barbed Tips, and Point Blank. The altered difficulty curve is also a key feature of the update, as is plenty of balancing adjustments, UI updates, bug fixes, and balancing work for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-cells-fatal-falls-dlc-gameplay\/\">Fatal Falls DLC for\u00a0<em>Dead\u00a0Cells<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/motiontwin\/status\/1376927203699662848\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Last December,\u00a0the developer added a\u00a0Holiday-themed update to\u00a0<em>Dead\u00a0Cells<\/em>\u00a0as well, filled with new features,\u00a0holiday-inspired outfits. and more. Developer\u00a0Motion Twin is wise to keep <em>Dead Cells<\/em> alive with ongoing free updates and paid DLC. As far as the Wack-a-Mole update, it seems quite substantial. Much of the content is simply nice to have, while other changes and additions are quality of life improvements and things that fans have been asking for.<\/p>\n<p><h3 class=\"category\">Important features<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"patchnote\">New weapon: the\u00a0<strong>Oven Axe<\/strong>.They say the last hit can be chained, but no one lived long enough to confirm&#8230;<\/li>\n<li class=\"patchnote\">New weapon: the\u00a0<strong>Toothpick<\/strong>.A big wooden club. Hold to charge and break the club on the head of your unfortunate enemies.<\/li>\n<li class=\"patchnote\">New weapon: the\u00a0<strong>Tombstone<\/strong>.Stay on the ground and doom nearby enemies if you manage to kill something with the last hit.An ethereal tombstone fall on the heads of doomed enemies.
