If gamers have played the\u00a0<em>Persona\u00a0<\/em>series or\u00a0<em>Tokyo Mirage Sessions<\/em>, then they&#8217;ve played the\u00a0<em>Shin Megami Tensei<\/em> series and would likely appreciate\u00a0<strong><em>Shin Megami Tensei 3 HD<\/em><\/strong> and the new trailer that Atlus just dropped.<\/p>\n<p>The trailer doesn&#8217;t get too specific as to the plot of the game, but it does show off some elements fans of either\u00a0<em>Shin Megami Tensei<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Persona<\/em> will recognize, such as the various demons. What the\u00a0<em>Persona<\/em> series calls personas, the\u00a0<em>Shin Megami Tensei<\/em> series calls demons. While some creatures get redesigns from game to game, there are a lot of them that look the same in\u00a0<em>Persona<\/em> that they do in\u00a0<em>Shin Megami<\/em>\u00a0<em>Tensei.\u00a0<\/em>For example, the trailer shows both Beezlebub and Forneus who have the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/persona-5-smt-3-remake\/\">same appearance as they do in\u00a0<em>Persona 5<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/shin-megami-tensei-3-nocturne-hd-file-size-revealed\/\">Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD File Size Revealed<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>What the trailer does indicate about the story has to do with the main character, the demi-fiend, and the destruction of the world. A central theme in all <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/shin-megami-tensei-3-remaster-persona-ps5-switch-port\/\">the main\u00a0<em>Shin Megami Tensei<\/em>\u00a0games<\/a> is chaos vs order, typically with forces representing the Judeo-Christian version of Lucifer representing chaos and the forces of God representing order.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jFs4m8oMiQg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The player will be able to decide which side of this spectrum they will want to align themselves with. Therefore, mainline\u00a0<em>Shin Megami Tensei<\/em> games have different valid endings, unlike\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/persona-5-true-ending-guide\/\"><em>Persona<\/em>\u00a0which typically has good<\/a> and bad endings.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, of the plot differences, players can still expect to collect a wide variety of different creatures and take them into battle.
