This will last for a one-week period after your first log-in to Season of the Splicer. To continue playing after that time, you will need the Season Pass.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section2\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>New Mission: Armor Synthesis &mdash; Transmog in Destiny 2<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Another popular long-time request among Destiny players is the introduction of a <strong>transmog system<\/strong>. Fashion-forward Guardians will finally see their wishes come true with the arrival of <strong>Armor Synthesis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This mission &mdash; which is available to Season Pass holders and free players alike &mdash; kicks off the new season and introduces the long-awaited transmog mechanic.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/\/2021\/05\/Destiny-2-Season-of-the-Splicer-transmog-system-the-loom-600x338.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-790881\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/05\/Destiny-2-Season-of-the-Splicer-transmog-system-the-loom-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/05\/Destiny-2-Season-of-the-Splicer-transmog-system-the-loom-156x88.jpg 156w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/05\/Destiny-2-Season-of-the-Splicer-transmog-system-the-loom-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/05\/Destiny-2-Season-of-the-Splicer-transmog-system-the-loom-1152x648.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/05\/Destiny-2-Season-of-the-Splicer-transmog-system-the-loom-231x130.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\"><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section3\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>How will transmog work?<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bungie.net\/en\/Explore\/Detail\/News\/50272\" rel=\"noopener\" >a Bungie dev blog released last month<\/a>, the new Armor Synthesis system is made up of four stages:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defeating enemies to earn Synthstrand.<\/li>\n<li>Spending Synthstrand on bounties to earn Synthcord.<\/li>\n<li>Returning to the Tower and using the new Loom station (see below) to convert Synthcord into Synthweave.<\/li>\n<li>Using Synthweave to convert armour pieces into Universal Armor Ornaments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a id=\"section4\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer &mdash; H.E.L.M. and Tower updates<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>The H.E.L.M. social space became the new base for Vanguard operations at the beginning of the last season. Crucially, it housed the Hammer of Proving, which tracked your season progress.<\/p>\n<p>According to what we learned back then, the Hammer should still be in play until at least November. The newly-introduced <strong>Loom<\/strong> (unlocked during the Armor Synthesis mission) allows you to create Synthweave. This paves the way for personalised armor modifications, based around the ability to turn almost any armor piece into a Universal Ornament.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section5\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>What else is new in Season of the Splicer?<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the major new features and changes detailed above, you can expect the usual roster of new season rewards. These will be added to week-by-week for the first ten weeks of the 15-week season. Once in place, they will be available to complete at any time before the end of the season.
