The first is the implementation of Nanite geometry, which apparently &ldquo;frees artists to create as much geometric detail as the eye can see.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Lumen is a new illumination solution designed to increase the versatility of light use in games. &ldquo;Artists and designers can create more dynamic scenes using Lumen,&rdquo; reads the post. &ldquo;For example, changing the sun angle for time of day, turning on a flashlight, or blowing a hole in the ceiling, and indirect lighting will adapt accordingly.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-750846\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2-600x311.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2-600x311.jpg 600w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2-156x81.jpg 156w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2-768x398.jpg 768w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2-1152x597.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2-251x130.jpg 251w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/04\/fortnite-2.jpg 1317w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\"><\/p>\n<p>According to the post, a preview version of Unreal Engine 5 will be made available in early 2021, before a full release drops later that year. It&rsquo;s set to support both current and next-gen consoles, and features forward compatibility to make next-gen games originally built in Unreal Engine 4 more easily transferable to Unreal Engine 5.
