As it stands, details are a little thin on the ground regarding what we can expect to see in Battlefield 6 or when it&rsquo;s likely to be set. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/yaLjpHN7foA\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=yaLjpHN7foA\"  rel=\"noopener\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, let&rsquo;s take a look at everything we know so far. You can also take a look at our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/20\/battlefield-6-wishlist-dice\/\">Battlefield 6 wishlist here<\/a>, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/01\/28\/battlefield-6-learning-from-battlefield-3\/\">Sherif&rsquo;s thoughts on what should be borrowed from Battlefield 3.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Battlefield 6 E3 reveal<\/h2>\n<p>EA announced that we&rsquo;ll be getting our first look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/11\/battlefield-6-june-reveal-tease\/\">Battlefield 6 trailer in June<\/a> during E3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/19\/battlefield-6-reveal-trailer-leaked-screenshots\/\">following a bunch of leaks<\/a>, with more information coming during <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/11\/ea-play-live-2021-july-date\/\">EA Play in July.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At present, EA hasn&rsquo;t revealed the game&rsquo;s true title, so we&rsquo;ll be running with Battlefield 6 until that changes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/\/2020\/06\/battlefield_5_summer_update_provence_1-600x338.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-756271\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/06\/battlefield_5_summer_update_provence_1-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/06\/battlefield_5_summer_update_provence_1-156x88.jpg 156w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/06\/battlefield_5_summer_update_provence_1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/06\/battlefield_5_summer_update_provence_1-1152x648.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2020\/06\/battlefield_5_summer_update_provence_1-231x130.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\"><\/p>\n<h2>Battlefield 6 release date<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/02\/03\/battlefield-spring-reveal-development-ahead-of-schedule\/\">During EA&rsquo;s earnings call<\/a>, CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that plans are still on track for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/02\/03\/battlefield-spring-reveal-development-ahead-of-schedule\/\"> Battlefield 6 to release Holiday 2021<\/a>, meaning sometime around November or December. While Wilson emphasised that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/12\/battlefield-6-true-next-gen-experience-runs-on-last-gen\/\">Battlefield 6 will &ldquo;take full advantage of PS5 and Xbox Series X\/S hardware&rdquo;<\/a> it will still be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, so don&rsquo;t fret if you haven&rsquo;t managed to snag a next-gen console yet.<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s also speculation that it&rsquo;ll be coming to <strong>Game Pass<\/strong> on Day One, but no details have been confirmed yet. We assume that Battlefield 6 will come with pre-order editions and bonuses but there are no details available just yet, so watch this space.<\/p>\n<h2>Battlefield 6 Battle Pass<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/17\/ea-battle-pass-patent-rewards-pick\/\">EA recently filed a patent for a new type of <strong>Battle Pass<\/strong><\/a>, where you&rsquo;ll be able to decide which rewards you earn rather than collect predetermined rewards. &ldquo;The seasonal reward system can provide users with a non-linear map that allows the users to choose how to progress through the reward map when advancing or levelling up a virtual character or user account within the video game,&rdquo; is what you can expect from EA&rsquo;s new Battle Pass system, though it&rsquo;s unclear whether it will be available in Battlefield 6.<\/p>\n<p>Season and Battle Passes are nothing new in online shooters, and this new patent would set Battlefield 6&rsquo;s version ahead of the crowd, beyond even what Destiny 2 achieves by letting you choose rewards each season. The question was asked whether there would be a free-to-play element a la Warzone with Battlefield 6, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/12\/ea-battlefield-battle-royale-annual-releases\/\">which was neither confirmed nor denied.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are rumours, however, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/03\/01\/criterion-developing-battlefield-6\/\">Criterion is working on such a mode<\/a>, so we&rsquo;re hopeful more details will appear in June and July. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/03\/29\/battlefield-6-battle-pass-free-to-play-survey\/\">A recent survey also revealed that a free-to-play element was likely<\/a>, alongside evolving maps, a clan system and weapon blueprints.<\/p>\n<h3>Battlefield 6 setting, gameplay and more<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/27\/battlefield-6-full-reveal-trailer-leak\/\">The most recent leaked trailer seems to suggest that Battlefield 6 will take place during modern combat<\/a>, potentially in the future. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/24\/battlefield-6-gameplay-reveal-trailer-leaks\/\">It also appears that there might be a robot dog, <\/a> EDOG273, that you can upgrade and use, which I assume will be a lot of fun to play around with. <\/p>\n<p>The trailer shows missiles, a minigun and guided bombs, as well as a slot that, we assume, is for defence. As I said before, the technical advancements of the new consoles mean that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/11\/06\/ea-battlefield-ps5-xbox-series-x\/\">Battlefield 6 is going to be big<\/a> with an unprecedented scale of combat, as Wilson emphasised in the earnings call.<\/p>\n<p>Basically, it sounds like they&rsquo;re going to take everything they&rsquo;ve done right in the past and push it beyond our expectations now that next-gen consoles are available.
