One of those being how the studio is approaching multiplayer this time around.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/RZVz7ThAK24?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RZVz7ThAK24\"  rel=\"noopener\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Because Battlefield 2042 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/06\/09\/battlefield-2042-no-single-player-campaign-multiplayer-narrative\/\" >won&rsquo;t have a single-player campaign<\/a>, DICE seemingly wanted to create a lot of value for players in the game&rsquo;s multiplayer modes. Multiplayer in Battlefield 2042 is made up of three distinct experiences.<\/p>\n<p>The first is <strong>All-Out Warfare<\/strong>, which was the focus of the event. All-Out Warfare houses Conquest, and Breakthrough. The two modes will each support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/06\/09\/battlefield-2042-128-players-massive-maps-reveal\/\" >128 players on PC and PS5\/Xbox Series consoles<\/a>, and exist on seven massive maps at launch.<\/p>\n<p>We got a chance to see a brief demonstration of all seven: Kaleidoscope, Manifest, Orbital, Discarded, Renewal, Hourglass, and Breakaway. Each map takes place in a different part of the globe, and each offers unique visual and gameplay themes. Take Hourglass; it is set in Qatar, encompassing the metropolitan city centre and nearby outskirts, where a big stadium sits. Its main weather event is a sandstorm that rolls in and darkens the environment, essentially turning it into night-time.<\/p>\n<p>One aspect of map design that particularly stood out was how DICE is recreating some of Battlefield&rsquo;s best classic moments within them. Damavand Peak&rsquo;s famous high helipad outlook and its associated skydive exist in Breakaway, whereas Manifest houses a version of Noshahr Canals&rsquo; iconic TDM container area, which is dynamically rearranged over the course of the battle.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3840\" height=\"2160\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-793773\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1.jpg 3840w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1-156x88.jpg 156w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1-1152x648.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/assets.vg247.com\/current\/2021\/06\/battlefield_2042_reveal_map_hourglass_screen_nologo_1-231x130.jpg 231w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px\"><\/p>\n<p>Alongside All-Out Warfare, players will also have access to two more experiences. The first, being <strong>built by DICE LA<\/strong>, is said to be a love letter to Battlefield fans. The studio didn&rsquo;t divulge any details there, but did confirm that the full reveal of this new experience will be the main focus of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/05\/11\/ea-play-live-2021-july-date\/\" >EA Play Live in July<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Then there&rsquo;s <strong>Hazard Zone<\/strong>, which DICE had to repeatedly say is <em>not<\/em> a battle royale mode. Hazard Zone will focus on tight squad combat, and an experience new to Battlefield.
