Bright Memory: Infinite<\/a> was among the standout Xbox Series X exclusives that impressed us during the console\u2019s first big showing last year. If you\u2019ve been patiently awaiting your chance to experience the game\u2019s fast-paced blend of first-person shooting and stylish swordplay, a new gameplay trailer has emerged confirming that it still has a pulse and is a wild as ever.\u00a0<\/p>\n The game takes place in a futuristic version of Earth, set in 2036. An organization called the Supernatural Science Research Organization (SRO) has discovered strange phenomena occurring in the skies and sends agents out to investigate. Protagonist Sheila is one such agent, and during your investigation you\u2019ll uncover an ancient mystery connected to events that could affect the fate of, not one, but two worlds.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Click here to watch embedded media<\/a><\/p>\n Infinite serves as a full-length\u00a0sequel, of sorts, to the original Bright Memory by Chinese indie developer Zeng \u201cFYQD\u201d Xiancheng and his team at FYQD Studio. Similar to the story of Lost Soul Aside<\/a>, Zeng developed Bright Memory single-handedly before later expanding to a full team. Zeng first released Bright Memory on\u00a0Steam Early Access in January 2019 as a small episode that served as a demo of sorts for a larger title. While it impressed many, it also garnered controversy after Zeng admitted to using stolen enemy models in that first episode. Zeng claims his team has since replaced those original assets and the game exited Early Access in March 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n In a Steam post, Zeng states that the development on the main parts of Infinite are complete. The team\u2019s focus has now shifted to recording voice lines and the soundtrack, as well as general debugging. That said, Bright Memory: Infinite still doesn\u2019t have an exact release date, but today\u2019s trailer reconfirmed its 2021 launch window. When it does arrive, it\u2019ll come to PlayStation 5,\u00a0Xbox Series X\/S, and PC.\u00a0<\/p>\n As someone who played the first episode of Bright Memory, I\u2019m pulling for Infinite to stick the landing. The game was undeniably entertaining and did a great job at making me feel 1000 times cooler than I really am.
