This partnership means the multiplayer shooter will make use of some of Nvidia&rsquo;s most advanced features.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/dTTGThC4aes?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dTTGThC4aes\"  rel=\"noopener\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Chief among those, of course, is DLSS, the company&rsquo;s renowned AI-powered upscaling technology, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2019\/07\/16\/dlss-nvidia-rtx-deep-learning-super-sampling-pc-performance-graphics\/\" >everyone&rsquo;s been raving about for years<\/a>. DLSS should make running the game at high framerates very manageable, particularly considering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/06\/09\/battlefield-2042-128-players-massive-maps-reveal\/\" >Battlefield 2042&rsquo;s much bigger scale<\/a> compared to past iterations.<\/p>\n<p>Battlefield 2042 will also make use of Nvidia&rsquo;s Reflex, the low-latency mode that optimises the rendering pipeline to create the lowest input lag. Reflex has been adopted by a number of competitive games, including Call of Duty: Warzone more recently.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the press release does not make any mention of ray tracing. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2018\/09\/05\/battlefield-5-ray-tracing-geforce-rtx-2080\/\" >Battlefield 5 was one of Nvidia RTX&rsquo;s poster games<\/a>, having been among the initial batch of big titles to support ray tracing. It&rsquo;s not clear whether Battlefield 2042 will drop ray tracing, or if it will simply be announced at a later date. <\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the game&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/06\/09\/battlefield-2042-no-single-player-campaign-multiplayer-narrative\/\" >lack of a single-player campaign<\/a> &ndash; typically intended as technical showcases for Battlefield &ndash; may have lessened the value of ray tracing somewhat. After all, multiplayer games don&rsquo;t always benefit from the revolutionary tech.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/AvQrs6VyrCk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=AvQrs6VyrCk\"  rel=\"noopener\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in the same announcement, EA also confirmed that Xbox Series X\/S is Battlefield 2042&rsquo;s console partner. This isn&rsquo;t surprising, of course, considering the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/06\/13\/battlefield-2042-gets-proper-gameplay-trailer\/\" >gameplay trailer debuted on a Microsoft stage<\/a>, and the fact Battlefield games have usually aligned with Xbox. <\/p>\n<p>EA did not, however, announce any special bonuses for playing the game on Xbox.
