\tVerizon CEO Hans Vestberg (pictured) told CNBC it was holding discussions with multiple potential content partners, as it seeks to continue employing exclusive consumer offers as a point of differentiation.<\/p>\n

In an appearance on the news organisation\u2019s Squawk Box programme during a media and technology event organised by investment bank Allen & Co, Vestberg said Verizon was attracting plenty of interest from content partners, touting this as evidence of the success of the operator\u2019s current joint marketing agreements.<\/p>\n

Verizon\u2019s partners see value in the operator\u2019s \u201cdirect-to-consumer arm\u201d, Vestberg said.<\/p>\n

The CEO added Verizon needs \u201cthe right type of content\u201d with a strong brand value, adding it was in talks with \u201ca lot of people\u201d regarding potential deals.<\/p>\n

Disney Plus, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and Google Play are all Verizon content partners, as is Discovery Plus, which is set to merge with WarnerMedia [1] in 2022.<\/p>\n

For now, Vestberg sees Verizon as the preferred distribution channel for all its partners. \u201cWe are basically exclusive with all these\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Verizon typically ties content offerings to mobile tariffs, offering six months of free access to subscription services.<\/p>\n

Vestberg said Verizon will be \u201cvery cautious\u201d in choosing future partners to avoid overloading customers with \u201copportunities that they don\u2019t use\u201d.<\/p>\n

The operator told Mobile World Live its Apple Arcade and Google Play deals could become more valuable as \u201cdevelopers realise the full potential of the network for massive multiplayer online games designed specifically for mobile\u201d.<\/p>\n
