How to set up a Chromebook for a kid<\/h2>\n

Setting up a Chromebook for a child is a relatively straightforward process and can be done in a few minutes \u2014 let’s get into it.<\/p>\n

  1. Turn on<\/strong> the Chromebook.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on Add person<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n

    Choose A child<\/strong> when asked whom you’re adding.<\/p>\n

    If your child already has a Google account, click on Sign in with a child’s Google Account<\/strong>, if not Create a Google Account for a child<\/strong> which will do so through Family Link<\/a>.<\/p>\n

  5. With a Google Account for your child ready, enter that email and password<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  6. When asked, enter your Google account information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  7. Agree<\/strong> to the Privacy and Terms after reading them.<\/li>\n

    Choose if you want to add your child’s school account<\/a> or skip adding it.<\/p>\n

  9. Click Next<\/strong> after reviewing<\/strong> the account syncing options.<\/li>\n
  10. Click Accept<\/strong> after reviewing<\/strong> the Google Play Terms of Service.<\/li>\n
  11. The next few prompts will ask if you want to add Google Assistant<\/strong> integration to your child’s Chromebook account, choose I agree or No thanks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

    If your child is available during setup, they can click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    After clicking next, you and your child will be greeted by the Explore screen. This helps to introduce your child to their Chromebook account and the features it has.
