This confirms earlier leaks that the story of BF2042 takes place in the same world, following the events of BF4 &ndash; albeit years later.<\/p>\n<p>EA confirmed in a press release that Irish is one of the game&rsquo;s playable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/06\/09\/battlefield-2042-specialists-unique-abilities-classes-siege-operators\/\" >Specialists<\/a>. His signature Specialty (gadget) is the DCS deployable cover, and the APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel, which counters explosive projectiles.
