‘Stranger Things’ star Millie Bobby Brown is one of 55 women who helped curated Netflix’s ‘Because She Watched’ collection (via Tina Rowden\/Netflix)<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n

Sunday’s International Women’s Day celebrations rang out across the world\u2014and the internet.<\/span><\/p>\n

In honor of the annual event, Netflix and UN Women launched a special collection<\/a> of streaming content curated by female creators from behind and in front of the camera.<\/span><\/p>\n

The library of TV shows, documentaries, and films is available all year via Netflix.com\/BecauseSheWatched<\/a>, or by searching “Because She Watched” on the platform.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each title is handpicked by international actresses, directors, writers, producers, and critics, including Milly Bobby Brown (<\/span>Stranger Things<\/span><\/i>), Logan Browning (<\/span>Dear White People<\/span><\/i>), Lauren Morelli (<\/span>Orange Is the New Black<\/span><\/i>), Lana Condor (<\/span>To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before<\/span><\/i>), Salma Hayek, Yalitza Aparicio (<\/span>Roma<\/span><\/i>), Mindy Kaling (<\/span>The Mindy Project<\/span><\/i>), Laurie Nunn (<\/span>Sex Education<\/span><\/i>), and Sophia Loren.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Having a world where everyone is truly represented is about true democracy. And truly seeing ourselves allows us to envision endless possibilities for ourselves and each other,” according to <\/span>Orange Is the New Black<\/span><\/i> star Laverne Cox.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Netflix original, helmed by Jenji Kohan, was the first project that made Cox feel “genuinely empowered as a woman thanks to the women at the helm of the show.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“This show created a space and platform for me as a black openly trans woman that created space for other openly trans women of all races to be truly seen in the depth of our humanity,” said Cox, who added Bren\u00e9 Brown documentary <\/span>The Call to Courage<\/span><\/i> to the list.<\/span><\/p>\n
