\tNokia CEO Pekka Lundmark (pictured) pointed to the success of a massive organisational shake-up after it recorded earnings growth in Q3\u00a0despite chip supply constraints and issues in North America [1].<\/p>\n

In its earnings statement, Lundmark credited Nokia performance to increased investments in technology, a key pillar of the company\u2019s new strategy [2], and market demand.<\/p>\n

Global supply chain issues and lower network revenue from North America were offset by \u201cstrong growth in Network Infrastructure,\u201d he added, though warned continued uncertainty around the semiconductor market limits \u201cvisibility into Q4 and 2022\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are working closely not only with our suppliers to ensure component availability but also with our customers to ensure we can meet their needs and mitigate the unprecedented component cost inflation our industry faces,\u201d Lundmark noted.<\/p>\n

Nokia is in the early days of its new operational model, which was introduced alongside an R&D push designed to revive its fortunes and catch-up on 5G.<\/p>\n

Lundmark noted in addition to benefiting from its increased research spend its operating margin was up on the \u201caccountability and financial discipline that our new operating model is driving through the organisation\u201d.<\/p>\n

Net profit of \u20ac351 million was up 78 per cent year-on-year, with revenue 2 per cent higher at \u20ac5.4 billion.<\/p>\n
