Vicarious Visions, the developer behind the recent Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy<\/a> and Tony Hawk\u2019s Pro Skater 1 and 2 remaster<\/a>, is set to lose its name in merging with Blizzard Entertainment.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This news comes by way of<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>Polygon<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, which reports that its sources say Activision Blizzard told Vicarious employees that the company name would be lost <\/span><\/span>when the merge is officially complete<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. While sad, it\u2019s not surprising, considering we already knew that all that we know Vicarious for \u2013 its excellent remasters and remakes \u2013 would likely be pushed to the wayside as when the merge was revealed, reports from <\/span><\/span>GamesIndustry.biz<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> stated that the studio would be shifting to be \u201cfully dedicated to existing Blizzard games and initiatives\u201d like Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Click here to watch embedded media<\/a><\/p>\n Vicarious employees reportedly told <\/span><\/span>Polygon<\/span><\/span> that they were under the impression that despite the merge, it would remain an independent studio that happened to be owned by Blizzard. When the news was announced to the team, a new studio name was not given, but according to <\/span><\/span>Polygon<\/span><\/span>, some employees are expecting the new name to be Blizzard Albany, as it\u2019s located in Albany, New York.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Employees at the studio told <\/span><\/span>Polygon<\/span><\/span> that they\u2019re not surprised by this news, with one person saying the \u201cwriting was on the wall.\u201d However, one employee at least was saddened by how sudden it all was, especially as the meeting was signaled as a \u201clight and quick\u201d one by Activision Blizzard.
