Huawei has filed a trademark for “Mate Watch” earlier this month in China and it’s rather puzzling. The company already has a smartwatch lineup called Watch GT with the latest release being GT 2e a few weeks ago. So what does the new trademark mean?<\/p>\n

Well, at first we thought it would be a separate high-end family called Mate, so it can go hand in hand with the Mate flagship smartphone series. But there’s also the possibility of re-branding. Perhaps the new Mate Watch will mark the birth of a new smartwatch line leaving the more budget-oriented segment to Honor and its…<\/p>\n\n
