Square Enix had a big day with a stream that showcased some big news for Dragon Quest fans. The beloved and mega-popular Japanese\u00a0series is getting an\u00a0anime based on an\u00a0early ’90s\u00a0manga spin-off: Dragon Quest:\u00a0The Adventure of Dai. Not\u00a0only did we get our first look at it,\u00a0 but Square Enix also took the opportunity to announce an\u00a0action\/RPG, mobile title, and arcade game\u00a0to support it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The anime is set to debut this October in Japan, and you can watch the trailer below:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Click here to watch embedded media<\/a><\/p>\n The other big announcement was several games, including a\u00a0mobile game (iOS, Android) hitting some time next year\u00a0and\u00a0an\u00a0arcade card game\u00a0coming this fall. But perhaps the biggest reveal was\u00a0an action\/RPG for consoles called Infinity Strash \u2013 Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, where players freely control characters using flashy moves to takedown iconic monsters from the series. Square Enix is publishing and Game Studio is developing it. With Dragon Quest XI propelling the series’ popularity and the recent Netflix move, there’s a chance we at least see the anime and\/or action\/RPG.
