On Thursday, the White House issued an executive order that bans TikTok from doing business with US companies. The order claimed that \u201cthe spread in the United States of mobile applications developed and owned by companies in the People\u2019s Republic of China continues to threaten the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States.\u201d This is the reason given by the US government, without evidence, that \u201caction must be taken to address the threat posed by one mobile application n particular, TikTok.\u201d<\/p>\n
