The second batch of episodes of the Pokemon Journeys <\/em><\/strong>anime, which airs exclusively on Netflix in the United States, finally has a release date.<\/p>\n

The first batch of episodes for Pokemon Journeys<\/a><\/em> consisted of 12 episodes released on June 12 on Netflix<\/a>, a first for the series which has traditionally aired weekly in the US since the Pokemon<\/em> anime began in the 90s. This new series focuses on Ash and his best friend Pikachu as they embark on a globe-trotting adventure across multiple regions, instead of a singular region introduced in the most recent Pokemon<\/em> games as the anime has done in the past. Ash and Pikachu are joined by Goh, a new face with the ambitious goal of catching the legendary Pokemon Mew.<\/p>\n

The page for the anime on Netflix has added a note stating that Part 2 is coming on September 11, which is a Friday. Episodes 13-24 will be released, which will put the US less than 12 episodes behind the original Japanese version. Interestingly though, Episode 24 was released on June 14 in Japan, almost exactly when the first 12 episodes were released in the US. This 12 episode release cadence seems like it will keep the US more consistently up to speed than the Pokemon<\/em> anime has been in the past, which has at times fallen much further behind.<\/p>\n

While the Pokemon Journeys <\/em>anime is not exclusively based on the Galar region introduced in Pokemon Sword <\/em>and Pokmeon Shield<\/em>, it does feature the Galar region and some of its characters. In fact, Ash is set to soon face off against the fighting-type gym leader Bea<\/a> in an upcoming episode in Japan.<\/p>\n

In other Pokemon<\/em> news, Pokemon GO\u00a0<\/em>is currently in the middle of Unova Week, where trainers can catch Pokemon like Cottonee, Roggenrola, and the legendary Genesect<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Part 1 of Pokemon Journeys <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is available to stream on Netflix with Part 2 arriving on September 11.<\/p>\n
