While Epic Games’ Fortnite<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0has become a phenomenon thanks to its battle royale mode, there is also a team-based mode that combines first-person shooter and tower defense elements called Fortnite: Save the World<\/em>, focusing on players fighting AI monsters. The battle royale paid homage to this other mode by adding a skin for Constructor Penny into Fortnite<\/em><\/a>\u00a0this week, and it seems more may be on the way.<\/p>\n

Fortnite<\/em>‘s official Twitter account teased the introduction of Penny on August 12 with a series of emoji depicting a female construction worker. Soon after, prominent leaker iFireMonkey suggested that Constructor Kyle could\u00a0be added as well, based on a pair of placeholder\u00a0Save the World<\/em> outfits they discovered\u00a0in testing phases last September that were both removed or encrypted in\u00a0Fortnite<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>leading up to Penny’s introduction.<\/p>\n

While this connection is no guarantee that additional Save the World<\/em> skins will be added, the addition of Penny suggests Epic Games could have plans to\u00a0represent more characters. There is a long history of new content being leaked for\u00a0the game, such as a Fortnite<\/em> Galaxy phone skin leaked in July<\/a>\u00a0prior to the Samsung tie-in event taking place.<\/p>\n
