The <\/span>Game Boy Color<\/span><\/a> does, in fact, add color, believe it or not, but there is also more processing power in the Color than the original Game Boy, allowing for more complex gameplay and more detailed graphics.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Game Boy Color has a slew of games that are exclusive to the system and will not work on the original Game Boy. To look back at the system that is unfortunately consistently lumped with its predecessor, here are 10 of the best games on the Game Boy Color.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Warlocked<\/h2>\n

The real-time strategy genre is an uncommon sight on consoles but an even rarer sight on handhelds which truly makes <\/span>Warlocked <\/span><\/i>an interesting oddity. As with most real-time strategy games, in <\/span>Warlocked <\/span><\/i>you must gather resources and build up an army to then send after the enemy on a different part of the map. The strategy comes from knowing what to build and when to build it before attacking or being attacked. You can hook up <\/span>Warlocked <\/span><\/i>to additional Game Boy Colors for up to four-player action with the Game Boy Link Cable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon: Trading Card Game\u00a0<\/h2>\n

While many owned the Pok\u00e9mon trading cards, not many knew how to actually battle with them as they were intended. Luckily, <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon: Trading Card Game <\/span><\/i>shows you just how to use your pocket monsters and those energy cards everyone had way too many of.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The game is set up somewhat like the mainline <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon <\/span><\/i>games with an overworld, gyms to battle in, and badges to earn. As you progress through the game you earn new cards that you can use to create the ultimate deck to take on the Elite Four with.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Metal Gear Solid<\/h2>\n

While the name would imply that <\/span>Metal Gear Solid <\/span><\/i>is a port of the PlayStation 1 title, it is actually its own unique game. It is structured similarly to the original <\/span>Metal Gear <\/span><\/i>games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and the Japanese exclusive MSX2 computer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The game has a topdown view and you must sneak your way past guards in order to infiltrate certain areas. There are many tools you can use to make your way through the enemy stronghold such as cigarettes to distract guards with and a pistol with a silencer for when you get caught.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Puzzle Challenge<\/h2>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Puzzle Challenge <\/span><\/i>takes the gameplay established in <\/span>Tetris Attack <\/span><\/i>for the<\/span> Super Nintendo and brings it to the Pok\u00e9mon universe. It works like reverse <\/span>Tetris <\/span><\/i>where all of the blocks are rising from the bottom of the screen. Rather than placing blocks, you rearrange them to line up with 3 or more of the same symbol. You can make combos and chains with quick strategic moves, something that will be required to beat the later levels of the game. There is a classic time attack mode as well as a story mode that has you going through gyms and earning badges before reaching the Elite Four.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Kirby Tilt \u2018n\u2019 Tumble<\/h2>\n

In <\/span>Kirby Tilt \u2018n\u2019 Tumble <\/span><\/i>you control Kirby by actually moving your Game Boy Color similar to <\/span>Yoshi Topsy Turvy<\/span><\/i>. This is done with the built-in accelerometers that react to you tilting the console itself. You guide Kirby through different levels by moving him along with the tilt of the Game Boy Color but you can also make him jump by giving the console a quick flick up. The jump attack can be used to collect higher up coins but is also used to take out all of the enemies on screen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Wario Land 3<\/h2>\n

The <\/span>Wario Land <\/span><\/i>series actually started off as a sequel to the <\/span>Super Mario Land<\/span><\/i><\/a> series called <\/span>Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. <\/span><\/i>In <\/span>Wario Land 3 <\/span><\/i>your main form of attack is Wario\u2019s shoulder charge which can be used to take out enemies and breakthrough obstacles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Wario Land 3 <\/span><\/i>you will encounter many different powerups that will both transform Wario and also give him a special ability. As an example, when Wario eats a donut he will grow double the size and has the ability to break through certain blocks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Pinball<\/h2>\n

Like other <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon <\/span><\/i>games, in <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Pinball <\/span><\/i>your goal is to catch every single Pok\u00e9mon. Being a pinball game, catching a Pok\u00e9mon in <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Pinball <\/span><\/i>is done by sending the ball into a specific part of the board which will initiate the catch mode. This will cause a Pok\u00e9mon to appear in the center of the board. After you hit the Pok\u00e9mon enough with the ball, you will catch it. There are two different boards to choose from, the red board and the blue board, both with exclusive Pok\u00e9mon that will only appear on one of the two boards.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 <\/span>The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages<\/h2>\n

Once you have completed one game you are given a code to use in the other and after defeating both you will see the game\u2019s true ending.<\/span><\/p>\n
