Amazon UK has leaked the existence of\u00a0<em><strong>The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword<\/strong><\/em> for the Nintendo Switch, perhaps indicating that an announcement for the game will be made sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n<p>No other details about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/skyward-sword\/\"><em>The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword<\/em><\/a> Switch port can be taken from the Amazon listing, but it wouldn&#8217;t be all that surprising for the game to eventually make its way to the Switch. After all, Nintendo has already tested an <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zelda-hd-remake-twilight-princess-skyward-sword\/\">HD version of\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em><\/a> before it ultimately decided to move forward with an\u00a0HD remake of\u00a0<em>Wind Waker<\/em> instead. Not only that, but series producer Eiji Aonuma has hinted at the possibility in the past.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zelda-breath-of-the-wild-mod-skyward-sword-sandship\/\">Zelda: Breath of the Wild Mod Adds Skyward Sword&#8217;s Sandship to the Game<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zelda-skyward-sword-nintendo-switch\/\">Eiji Aonuma teasing\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em> for the Switch<\/a> is the most damning evidence that this Amazon listing is legitimate, but some fans may be wondering why Nintendo would want to re-release this particular\u00a0<em>Zelda<\/em> game. Well, it&#8217;s possibly one of the most underplayed main series\u00a0<em>Zelda<\/em> titles, due in part to it requiring the Wii MotionPlus accessory. While\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em> sales were impressive at first, it didn&#8217;t have quite the same lasting sales impact as other games in the series, so Nintendo may be looking at an HD remaster as a way to get more people to play the game.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Toadsanime\/status\/1295021779556204544\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another possibility is that Nintendo has already remastered the other 3D\u00a0<em>Zelda<\/em> games, with HD remasters for\u00a0<em>Wind Waker<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Twilight Princess<\/em> on the Wii U, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-switch\/\"><em>Ocarina of Time<\/em><\/a> and\u00a0<em>Majora&#8217;s Mask<\/em> getting updates on the 3DS.\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em> remains one of the only 3D\u00a0<em>Zelda<\/em> games that hasn&#8217;t gotten an HD facelift, and so it makes sense that it would be prioritized over re-releasing some of the other games.<\/p>\n<p>If a\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em> HD remaster is in the works, it will be interesting to see when exactly it&#8217;s released. 2021 is the\u00a0<em>Zelda<\/em> franchise&#8217;s 35th anniversary, and rumor has it that Nintendo has big plans for the series next year to celebrate. Perhaps\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em> will just be one piece of that puzzle, similarly to how Nintendo is rumored to be releasing a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/hasbro-super-mario-games-anniversary-3d-collection\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Super Mario<\/em> collection<\/a> for the plumber&#8217;s 35th anniversary this year.<\/p>\n<p>Then again, maybe it will be released this year to bolster the Switch&#8217;s holiday lineup. Besides\u00a0<em>Pikmin 3 Deluxe<\/em>, Nintendo has been secretive about its holiday plans for the Switch, but it&#8217;s expected to reveal more information in a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-direct-august-2020-predictions\/\">rumored Nintendo Direct for August 2020<\/a>. Maybe\u00a0<em>Skyward Sword<\/em> for Switch is one of the planned announcements.
