Since the company was acquired by Sony, it seems it&#8217;s been investing a lot into its Sony-focused IP, making sure that both\u00a0<em>Spider-Man\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Ratchet and Clank\u00a0<\/em>are some of the best-looking franchises heading to the PlayStation 5.<\/p>\n<p>However, a new image posted to the company&#8217;s Twitter page has made viewers think that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ratchet-clank-dreams-insomniac\/\">Insomniac<\/a> could\u00a0be teasing\u00a0the\u00a0resurrection of another of its Sony-centric hits. The tweet, which was posted to the studio&#8217;s page earlier today, centers on one of the two protagonists of the studio&#8217;s long-dormant\u00a0<strong><em>Resistance\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>series, with Nathan Hale taking the spotlight.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/insomniac-resistance-4-longshot\/\">Insomniac Talks Odds of Developing Resistance 4<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While the image doesn&#8217;t offer any hints for speculation, evidently fans think there&#8217;s something to Insomniac&#8217;s tweet, which was innocuously captioned &#8220;TFW the weather person says the storm has a high likelihood of Hale.&#8221; Below the image, fans have\u00a0jokingly told the studio to stop teasing them, while others have reminded Insomniac that they&#8217;re still waiting on a new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/resistance\/\"><em>Resistance<\/em><\/a> sequel or remake. One user\u00a0asks,\u00a0&#8220;so, are you making a sequel or remasters\/remakes,&#8221; while a second speculates &#8220;high likelihood of seeing Hale on the ps5?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/insomniacgames\/status\/1295042648491749376\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While the image could likely be an innocent in-joke directed at\u00a0fans of one of the PlayStation 3&#8217;s most beloved series,\u00a0it becomes far more suspicious when considering <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/insomniac-games-resistance-remaster-tease\/\">Insomniac posted\u00a0several similar\u00a0teases\u00a0recently as well<\/a>. These have ranged from concept art from the trilogy\u00a0to closer\u00a0looks at the game&#8217;s central antagonists, the Chimera.\u00a0Regardless, it&#8217;s clear fans want the series to return in some form and it&#8217;s easy\u00a0to see why. Launching with the console, the first game quickly transformed into a cult-gem, allowing players to jump into an\u00a0alternate\u00a0history\u00a01951 in which humans are battling\u00a0a losing war against a\u00a0mysterious alien force. It went onto spawn 2 sequels, with\u00a0<em>Resistance 2\u00a0<\/em>taking the series to the United States in 2008 and Resistance 3 finishing the trilogy in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Ever since then, players have wanted more from the franchise and its unique, sci-fi world, so any tease, no matter how big or small, is liable to get the fanbase discussing\u00a0<em>Resistance&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em>return once again.
