An update video announcing this news has not mentioned a new release window for the game, which was announced back in a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-indie-world-stream-2019\/\">2019 Nintendo Indie Direct<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/cyanide-happiness-freakpocalypse-timed-switch-exclusive\/\">Cyanide and Happiness: Freakpocalypse Announced as Timed Switch Exclusive<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Released as a Switch exclusive in 2017,\u00a0<em>Golf Story<\/em> is a unique mix of RPG and golf where players can gain experience to boost their skills and earn new clubs as they progressed through\u00a0the game&#8217;s story.\u00a0<em>Sports Story<\/em>\u00a0takes the formula from its\u00a0prequel and expands it greatly by adding a wide variety of sports. Golf and disc golf make a return, but the announcement trailer also shows off and mixes up some sports like baseball, tennis, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/football-manager-2021-delay-covid-19\/\">soccer\/football<\/a>, and volleyball. Given that players will be competing in what&#8217;s called a &#8220;decasportathon,&#8221; it&#8217;s likely that there&#8217;ll be ten different sports to try out.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sidebargames\/status\/1295355477195292672\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Sidebar Games sent out a tweet just a few hours ago where Coach and some of the other characters in the game announce the bad news while dropping some hints at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/sports-story-interview-andrew-newey\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">what players might see in the game<\/a>, such as a golf pinball machine, playing soccer\/football with a dog, and an evil corporation. In a companion tweet, Sidebar Games explained the reason for the delay in more detail. &#8220;The game has become rather ambitious and we are excited about how it could turn out,&#8221;\u00a0they said.\u00a0&#8220;But the price is currently being paid as we try to make our plans into reality.
