However, fans should absolutely temper their expectations for this event, as it is extremely likely that this briefing session centers around internal affairs and possible restructuring of the company, and not a game or product information.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-switch-sales-july-2020\/\"><strong>Nintendo Switch Was the Best Selling Console of July 2020<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned above, it\u2019s been quite some time since the last official full-length Nintendo Direct was aired. In fact, it\u2019s been almost a year since <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-direct-september\/\">last year\u2019s September Nintendo Direct showcased<\/a> new information regarding <em>Luigi\u2019s Mansion 3<\/em> and <em>Pokemon<\/em> <em>Sword<\/em> and <em>Shield<\/em>. However, it seems Nintendo is still keeping its cards close to its chest, as the company has announced no plans of a new full-length Direct at the time of writing. It seems the company has other priorities it needs to address first.<\/p>\n<p>Nintendo of Japan announced that the company will hold a management briefing session in Tokyo on September 16. The information came to light in the West by way of David Gibson, the co-founder of Astris Advisory Japan KK and industry analyst working out of Japan. In a recent tweet, Gibson clarifies, \u201cno new products, services, etc. will be announced then.\u201d He ends the tweet wondering if Nintendo will announce a Direct before then, hoping the company does so. Many fans are on the same page, as <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-direct-august-2020-leak\/\">rumors of an August 2020 Direct<\/a> are circulating heavily.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gibbogame\/status\/1295155941755596801\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Based on Gibson\u2019s assessment and seeing as he is directly linked to Nintendo being an industry analyst in Japan, it\u2019s safe to assume that this management session is strictly business. However, a couple of things make this specific session a bit odd. First, the session seems to be a one-off briefing, not like Nintendo\u2019s annual financial briefings that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-valueact-stake-purchase\/\">help investors of Nintendo keep stakes<\/a> in the company or drop them. Additionally, the briefing is set just days after Mario\u2019s 35<span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">th<\/span>\u00a0anniversary on September 13.<\/p>\n<p>Now, those two things shouldn&#8217;t raise expectations for whatever this management session briefing happens to be. Again, more than likely, the briefing will have a lot to do with Nintendo\u2019s business, internal structuring, and perhaps something for investors to get interested in. The company may give insight on how it will be handling its relationship with digital sales in the future, seeing as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/nintendo-digital-sales-more-than-physical\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nintendo is selling more games digitally<\/a> than physical on the Switch.
