The Nintendo Indie World showcase showed off a slew of upcoming indie games that are on the way for the Switch. While fans will have to wait a bit to get their hands on most of the games, some of the titles were surprise-launched for the Switch, rolling out to the eshop<\/a> throughout the day. One such title was\u00a0A Short Hike<\/strong><\/em>, the critically-acclaimed game from\u00a0adamgryu that was one of the top-rated indie games of last year.<\/p>\n

A Short Hike<\/em>, which was nominated for multiple awards by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences<\/a>, is now available on the Nintendo Switch as a timed-console exclusive. This seems to indicate that the game will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox down the line as well, but it’s unclear just how long\u00a0A Short Hike<\/em>‘s Switch exclusivity will last. Regardless, Switch owners can check out the award-winning game now and see what all the fuss is about.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, one game that\u00a0A Short Hike<\/em> can be compared to is actually\u00a0The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild<\/em><\/a>. The game is all about exploration, with players having to climb up cliffs and glide around to reach new areas. It also draws inspiration from titles like Super Mario 64<\/em> and\u00a0Animal Crossing<\/em>.\u00a0Considering this, it may be especially relevant to Switch owners, and so it’s no surprise that it’s made its way to the Nintendo Switch.<\/p>\n

A Short Hike<\/em> was just one of many indie games revealed during the Indie World showcase. And now that Nintendo has shown these games, fans will be hoping for a proper Nintendo Direct<\/a> presentation before August 2020 wraps up. Whether or not they get their wish remains to be seen, but they’ll have their fingers crossed.<\/p>\n

A Short Hike<\/strong><\/em> is available for PC and Switch.<\/p>\n
