Nintendo recently held an Indie World showcase<\/a> to debut a handful of new indie titles coming to the Switch. Among those announcements was a new game that centers around the art of cheating at card games, aptly named Card Shark<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Card Shark<\/em> is all about using card tricks and deception to cheat at card games. Players will take their deceptive sleight of hand tricks throughout a 2D, 18th Century Europe and hone in their skills to increase winnings and play into some very high stakes card games. Mastering techniques and new ways to hide cards from opponents will grant players access to new locations to scam some other unsuspecting NPCs. Part of the Card Sharks<\/em> charm is that the card techniques used in the game are real manipulation techniques used today.<\/p>\n

Cheating at cards can be a\u00a0risky route to winning money, whether it be in Card Sharks<\/em> or in real life and the gameplay features dire consequences for those who try to swindle other people. Card Sharks<\/em> takes a roguelike progression\u00a0approach to gameplay<\/a> and if a player is caught, they’re likely to lose everything after a duped opponent pulls out a\u00a0pistol. Learning the skills to trick others and when to press one’s luck can lead to big\u00a0payouts or certain death.<\/p>\n
