The <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/vive\/\">Vive<\/a>&#8216;s number one competitor made a blunder, and because of that, the HTC VR headset is suddenly a bit more popular.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/oculus-facebook-accounts\/\">Oculus is now forcing its players to use Facebook accounts<\/a> to log in and play on its VR headsets. The announcement\u00a0has not gone over well with fans. Because of this, many are saying they will leave Oculus and buy an HTC Vive, and others are claiming that when they do eventually buy a VR headset, it will not be an Oculus.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mother-reunion-dead-daughter-vr\/\">Korean TV Show Reunites Mother With Dead Daughter in VR<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At one point, around six years ago, it was promised to fans that Oculus players would not need to log into a Facebook account every time they play on their VR headset, but that looks to be no longer the case. There are a <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/best-vr-headsets\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">few great VR headsets<\/a> to choose from, and fans are pointing out on Twitter that they may be more likely to purchase the one that has more goodwill towards its users.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OmnomThenom\/status\/1295821473983037440\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NokahVR\/status\/1295840393419005953\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>At one point earlier in the day the Vive had over 125 thousand tweets, which is quite remarkable for a device that did virtually nothing today but exist as a competitor to the Oculus. There are many<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/virtual-reality-vr-games-2019-best-top\/\"> amazing VR games<\/a> that the Vive can play, and play well. It will be interesting to see if the Vive&#8217;s sales rise to go along with its Twitter popularity.<\/p>\n<p>The Oculus has often been regarded as the top dog in terms of PC VR headsets, but the Vive is also powerful and competent. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/half-life-alyx-reviews\/\"><em>Half-Life: Alyx<\/em> is one of the highest-rated VR games ever<\/a>, and it&#8217;s available to play on the Vive, and a wisecracking Twitter user pointed out that it can be done without giving out personal info.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UnpopularTube\/status\/1295809242780311554\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/orchestructive\/status\/1295836646600933376\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>One of the most comical reactions came from the HTC Vive Twitter page itself. The original Tweet from Oculus at one point had 1.4 thousand likes, and HTC Vive&#8217;s response of &#8220;Oh, we&#8217;re up.&#8221; had 7.5 thousand, indicating that it is awake and up to the challenge, and perhaps even glad that its competitor is making what seems to be a misstep.
