That popularity has resulted in many fan projects, such as a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fan-makes-incredible-anime-opening-legend-zelda-majoras-mask\/\"><em>Majora&#8217;s Mask<\/em> anime opening<\/a> created for the game&#8217;s 20th anniversary, and recently a gorgeous concept video was made\u00a0by Nexon OC&#8217;s Lead 3D Artist Cordell Felix.<\/p>\n<p>Felix uploaded his currently-unlisted video, titled &#8220;<em>Majora&#8217;s Mask &#8211; <\/em>Rebirth,&#8221; to YouTube August 12. It takes place in a version of Termina set hundreds of years after the events of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/the-legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-3d\/\"><em>Majora&#8217;s Mask<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0in which the Happy Mask Salesmen hid the artifact deep within the Lost Woods before passing away.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zelda-breath-of-the-wild-2-majoras-mask\/\">Will Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Get the Majora&#8217;s Mask Treatment<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The five-minute video, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/stranger-things-unreal-engine-4\/\">rendered in Unreal Engine 4<\/a>, shows sweeping shots of the Lost Woods as tendrils from Majora&#8217;s Mask spread and absorb all life from the forest, ending with the mask gaining enough energy to rise off the floor with glowing eyes. Its slow burn is accentuated by atmospheric sound effects replicating the original game, a remix of the Song of Healing by Robert Karpay, and a realistic mask Felix created for Ember Lab&#8217;s 2016 fan film &#8220;<em>Majora&#8217;s Mask<\/em> &#8211; Terrible Fate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NviofLkksNk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Setting this idea far in the future may leave fans\u00a0disappointed at the lack of an appearance by Link, especially given how long the video takes to reach its titular &#8220;rebirth&#8221; scene. However, Felix said that the process of imagining this fan-favorite title in a more realistic style &#8220;has been my effort to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zelda-breath-wild-2-fan-theories\/\">give back to the Zelda community<\/a>,&#8221; and it&#8217;s hard to argue with how beautiful and affecting the project turned out.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the 3D artist has an extensive pedigree that makes it easy to see how they captured such a style with real-time rendering in Unreal Engine. According to his website, Felix has previously done work for games like\u00a0<em>God of War<\/em> (2018), <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/borderlands-remastered-changes\/\">2019&#8217;s <em>Borderlands Remastered<\/em><\/a>, and 2016&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Bioshock: The Collection<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>While <em>Zelda<\/em> fans have been open about their affection for titles like <strong><em>The Legend of Zelda:\u00a0Majora&#8217;s Mask<\/em><\/strong> through these kinds of projects, Nintendo has also shown a lot of love to the iconic Majora&#8217;s Mask throughout the years.
