However, it seems plans have changed. A new trailer for\u00a0<em>Martha is Dead<\/em> now claims that the game is coming to PC and Xbox Series X in 2021, with no mention of the previously-announced PlayStation 5 version.<\/p>\n<p>The new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/martha-is-dead\/\"><em>Martha is Dead<\/em><\/a> trailer comes from IGN&#8217;s new coverage of the game, though there&#8217;s no mention of why the PS5 version has seemingly been left by the wayside. The game&#8217;s Twitter account also has no mention of PS5, with only the PC and Xbox Series X versions mentioned in the bio. It&#8217;s possible that some kind of exclusivity deal was reached, but it&#8217;s also possible that the developers simply prefer the Xbox Series X hardware. Or maybe the decision was made for entirely different reasons. Until LKA addresses the situation, all fans can do is speculate.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-medium-gameplay-xbox-series-x\/\">The Medium Xbox Series X Horror Game Trailer Shows Dual-Reality Gameplay<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Whatever the case may be,\u00a0this revelation came with a new\u00a0<em>Martha is Dead<\/em> trailer, and it&#8217;s rather gruesome. The trailer shows the corpse of a woman washed up on the beach, with someone cutting her face off and then wearing it as their own. Needless to say,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-xbox-series-x-horror-games-scorn-medium\/\"><em>Martha is Dead<\/em> is a horror game<\/a> through and through.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YEaOfAQ22Aw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Prior to\u00a0<em>Martha is Dead<\/em>, studio LKA created the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-town-of-light-live-action-trailer\/\">psychological horror game\u00a0<em>The Town of Light<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0<em>The Town of Light<\/em> earned mixed reviews at the time of its release, but there were some that praised the game for its focus on mental health issues and its effective scares. If\u00a0<em>Martha is Dead<\/em> is able to deliver a similar experience while addressing some of the concerns that\u00a0critics had about the studio&#8217;s previous work, then it could very well be one of the top horror games of next year.<\/p>\n<p><em>Martha is Dead<\/em> is just one of many horror games that have been confirmed for next-generation platforms, and the latest to be revealed as an Xbox Series X console exclusive. Previously, it was announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-series-x-the-medium-pre-orders-live\/\">Bloober Team&#8217;s\u00a0<em>The Medium<\/em><\/a> would be an Xbox Series X console exclusive, and the upcoming\u00a0<em>Scorn<\/em> is also going to be exclusive to the platform. For one reason or another, horror developers appear to be flocking to the Xbox Series X, and so fans of the genre may very well want to consider picking up the new console.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Microsoft has so far kept quiet about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/rumor-xbox-series-x-400-dollars-cheaper-two-model\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xbox Series X price and release date<\/a>, so it&#8217;s unclear when horror fans will be able to get their hands on the new system.
