The <\/span>Gamecube<\/span><\/a> is Nintendo\u2019s fourth game console, and it found itself in direct competition with the original <\/span>Xbox<\/span><\/a> and the <\/span>PlayStation 2<\/span><\/a>. While the GameCube was unable to compete with the hugely successful PlayStation 2 thanks to its built-in DVD player and third-party support, it did have many fantastic games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there are many games that were released on the GameCube that have yet to see a release elsewhere, causing them to be stuck on the console. With Nintendo remaking many of their classic games, there is a possibility that we may see a remake or remaster of some of the games on this list, but only time will tell.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Odama<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The Nintendo GameCube had a few very odd accessories, with the mic being one of them. The mic was used for <\/span>Mario Party<\/a> 6 & 7, Chibi-Robo!<\/a>,<\/span><\/i> Karaoke Revolution, <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>Odama,\u00a0<\/span><\/i>with the latter possibly having the most unique use for it<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Odama <\/span><\/i>is a pinball game where you guide your army of soldiers with voice commands so they bring the bell, or the Ninten-bell, to the other end of the screen. The pinball, called the Odama, can destroy enemies and their buildings as well as hit the Ninten-bell, which will knock over all of the enemy soldiers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Wario World<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Wario World <\/span><\/i>was<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>developed by Treasure, the team behind <\/span>Ikaruga <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>Gunstar Heroes. <\/span><\/i>It’s<\/span>\u00a0a platformer\/beat \u2018em up hybrid where you guide Wario through levels to collect treasure. The premise of the game is that Wario\u2019s money has all turned into monsters, and to get it to revert back to\u00a0cold, hard cash he needs to take them out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wario can punch and butt-stomp on enemies, as well as pick them up and throw them into other enemies. Each level consists of three parts, with all of them ending\u00a0in a boss battle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door<\/h2>\n

Paper Mario:<\/span><\/i> <\/i><\/i>The Thousand-Year Door <\/span><\/i><\/a>is the second game in the <\/span>Paper Mario <\/span><\/i>series that started on the Nintendo 64. <\/span>Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door <\/span><\/i>tackles many subjects that other games in the series tend to\u00a0avoid, like the death of a loved one and similarly dark themes. Like other Mario RPGs, in <\/span>Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door <\/span><\/i>battles play out\u00a0in a way not unlike the battle systems in a\u00a0Final Fantasy<\/em> game. There’s turned based combat, but you are able to time button presses when attacking or defending to make things turn in your favor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

7 <\/span>The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The very first multiplayer <\/span>The Legend of Zelda<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>game, <\/span>Four Swords Adventure <\/span><\/i>can be played with up to three other friends or on your own. However, to play multiplayer, you need 2 or more Game Boy Advances, Link Cables, and multiple copies of <\/span>The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords <\/span><\/i>for the Game Boy Advance.<\/span><\/p>\n

If the game were to be rereleased, they could make playing with more than one player more feasible by adding online or couch co-op with a second controller.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Super Smash Bros. Melee<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Super Smash Bros.<\/span><\/i> <\/i>Melee <\/span><\/i><\/a>is the second <\/span>Super Smash Bros. <\/span><\/i>game and it adds many elements that are still being used in the most recent iterations of the series. Many new characters were added that weren\u2019t included in the previous entry like Mewtwo, Falco Lombardi, Ganondorf, and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also added to <\/span>Super Smash Bros. Melee <\/span><\/i>are<\/span>\u00a0trophies that include characters from\u00a0across the entirety\u00a0of Nintendo\u2019s history,\u00a0even featuring many characters that weren\u2019t added to the game in full. The game is very popular in the competitive fighting game community and is still played heavily to this day.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Like the <\/span>Resident Evil <\/span><\/i>remake for the GameCube, <\/span>Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes <\/span><\/i>is a <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>remake of <\/span>Metal Gear Solid <\/span><\/i>which was originally released for the PlayStation. <\/span>Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes <\/span><\/i>is a stealth action game with a heavy emphasis on the story. The game was made using the same engine as <\/span>Metal Gear Solid 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

While most of the game remains the same as the original,\u00a0there is unique recorded dialogue\u00a0as well as small Nintendo related\u00a0easter eggs,\u00a0like Mario and Yoshi statues and a GameCube hidden away in an office.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem <\/span><\/i>is a very ambitious game that takes inspiration from <\/span>Resident Evil <\/span><\/i>and the weird Eldritch tales of H.P. Lovecraft. Each chapter of the game is played with a different character in a different era, with each character finding the book of the dead – the Necronomicon. When encountering monsters in the game, your sanity meter drains. Once it reaches zero the game uses some very creative ways to scare you and make you feel as if it\u2019s you who is going insane by creating illusions,\u00a0such as cleverly providing the impression that your GameCube has turned off, or that your save has been deleted. It even goes so far as to try and trick you into believing your\u00a0television has been muted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Super Mario Sunshine<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Super Mario Sunshine <\/span><\/i>changes up a lot of things from its predecessor. One of the\u00a0biggest things added to <\/span>Sunshine <\/span><\/i>that wasn\u2019t in <\/span>Super Mario 64 <\/span><\/i>is F.L.U.D.D. It’s a jet pack that allows Mario to spray his enemies with water\u00a0and allows him to hover in the air for a short period of time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The game takes place in a tropical paradise called Isle Delfino, with each level taking place on a different part of the island\u00a0such as\u00a0the theme park, the hotel,\u00a0and other charming locations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2 <\/span>F-Zero GX<\/h2>\n

The final entry to be released in the series, <\/span>F-Zero GX <\/span><\/i>takes the fast, futuristic racing established in previous titles and perfects it. Each track requires a generous amount of skill and good knowledge of the track if you want to finish in first place.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are numerous characters to choose from, all with their own ship, stats, and back story. There are a few different game modes including the Grand Prix mode, with each cup offering varying difficulty. The Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond cups all becoming increasingly difficult as you move further down the line.<\/span><\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Mario Kart: Double Dash<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Mario Kart: Double Dash <\/span><\/i>tries something entirely new with the series. Rather than having a single racer, you have two. This feeds into the stat system that is heavily emphasized in the game. If you choose two medium-sized characters you\u2019ll have more balanced stats – add heavy characters and you\u2019ll have higher top speeds and won\u2019t get knocked off the track as easily, or if you add lighter characters then your acceleration stats will increase. There are many different combinations, so you can create something that perfectly\u00a0suits your play style.<\/span><\/p>\n
