In fact, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/steam-game-festival-october\/\">Steam Game Festival will be returning in October<\/a>, and future events are already being planned for next year.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s easy to see why these have become so popular. The slate of demos that make up the seasonal events offer developers a prominent platform to showcase their works, and give players a chance to try out games that would normally fly under their radar. Most recently, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/best-steam-game-festival-titles\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">summer Steam Game Festival highlighted plenty of promising games<\/a>, and this fall\u2019s installment will likely have more to share.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/geoff-keighley-steam-game-festival-40-demos\/\">Geoff Keighley Brings Back Steam Game Festival, Releasing 40 Free Game Demos<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, there\u2019s been a question hanging over the recent announcement of the next event. At the time, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/portal-vr-game-valve-corporation\/\">Valve suggested<\/a> that it will host more festivals in 2021, but it didn\u2019t say when exactly. That changed this week, when Valve designer Alden Kroll revealed on Twitter that two events are currently planned for next year, with one taking place in February and the other in June.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/aldenkroll\/status\/1296129831290068993\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Besides letting people try out games on <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/steam\/\">Steam<\/a> for free, the Steam Game Festivals have provided indie developers with a means to market their games in the absence of the regular conventions that have been cancelled because of COVID-19.
