PlatinumGames have opened their official online store via Amazon Japan. While the store includes standard fare such as logo t-shirts and a diorama, it is the face masks branded with\u00a0The Wonderful 101: Remastered<\/strong><\/em> characters that is of most interest. The remastering of the cult classic had a highly successful Kickstarter campaign<\/a> and this news\u00a0comes as yet another form of goodwill from the Japanese developer for the supportive fanbase.<\/p>\n

Sales from the online store (which has international shipping) will go to charity.\u00a0Early proceeds from the sale of the four different\u00a0The Wonderful 101: Remastered<\/em><\/a>\u00a0masks will be donated to Doctors Without Borders to help in the fight against COVID-19.<\/p>\n

While the self-publishing of the remaster has not been issue-free<\/a>, it is good to see Platinum Games give back to the community which has been so appreciative of its work. The Japanese developer is responsible for many critically successful games including\u00a0Nier: Automata<\/em>,\u00a0Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance<\/em> and the\u00a0Bayonetta\u00a0<\/em>series.<\/p>\n

With PlatinumGames open to a sequel to\u00a0The Wonderful 101<\/em><\/a>\u00a0after\u00a0its successful Kickstarter campaign, it can be expected that the community will support the online store through the purchase of merchandise. If you are outside Japan however, there\u00a0may be a significant increase in price due to international shipping.<\/p>\n

The sale of these face masks for charity comes on the heels of other companies doing their part to help amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Notably, this move mirrors the effort of PlatinumGames’ close partner, Nintendo, who donated nearly 10,000 face masks to emergency services in Washington<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Many businesses now require customers to wear masks to stop the spread of coronavirus, including video game retailer GameStop<\/a>. While it is probably easier to buy an unbranded mask if you don’t already have one, purchasing one of these masks will help in the fight against the virus by donating to Doctors\u00a0Without Borders.<\/p>\n

The Wonderful 101: Remastered<\/strong><\/em> is available now for PC, PS4 and Switch.<\/p>\n
